Clinton, Obama trade leads in Ca. polls

The Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll, described as the final poll before Super Tuesday, found Obama the preference of nearly half of all voters surveyed in the state. 

Forty-nine percent of California voters said they planned to vote for Obama while only 36 percent indicated support for Clinton.

"What has happened here is that in addition to building leads among almost every part of his base of support, he has dramatically cut into Clinton's lead among Hispanic voters," said pollster John Zogby.

The Zogby polling also found Hillary Clinton pulling ahead in the battleground state of New Jersey, next door to New York, the state she represents in the Senate.

But a SurveyUSA pre-election poll found exactly the opposite result.  Hillary Clinton was the preference of the majority of voters in California by a 10point marging, according to that poll.  Clinton led Obama 52 percent to 42 percent, according to the survey.
