Saturday Night Live looking for Obama impersonator
Staff Reporter | Posted February 21, 2008 1:04 AM

After a three-month forced hiatus caused by the television writers' strike, Saturday Night Live is ready to return to the airwaves this weekend, but they've got a problem. They need someone to play Barack Obama.
The show has missed most of the major campaign developments since last fall, including the rise of Barack Obama and Mike Huckabee, the demise of Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney, and the elections in Iowa, New Hampshire and Super Tuesday.
But first they have to figure out how to deal with Obama-mania. Says SNL's longtime executive producer Lorne Michaels, "We're going to have to do Obama this week...We need to find our Obama."
Meanwhile, impersonating the first African-American presidential candidate to be a frontrunner may be a lucrative business. A company called Tapley Entertainment in Texas has its own Obama impersonator, complete with big ears and a politician's business suit. But some reports are indicating that comedian Donald Glover has been hired for the job.

SNL should probably bring back Will Ferrell to do this impersonation. The fact that he's not African American just makes it that much funnier.
