Who cares if he would or would not have been her pastor? Is she even a church goer, or only when she can pander for a vote? is she even a Christian? Hillary Clinton is truly a nasty piece of work. Was she saying this while dodging those bullets in Bosnia? With all of the technology in our society and access to knowledge, I am still amazed at the level of ignorance. James Cone and Black Liberation Theology is not about black folks taking over the world. Obama has not even received the nomination, but Francis Schaeffer called for the overthrow of the government in the name of Christianity, founded the Religious Right and sat in the White House on several occasions. What some in white America seems to not understand is that when the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ was introduced, some of the pages of the manual were left out, all of the religious symbols and meaning which was the foundation of our culture was replaced by a western substitute. You had to be "free" from sin, but not "free" enough to be considered a human being. Christianity was to make us "better slaves" while the good "Christian" slave owners raped our wives and daughters. The liberation of Jesus Christ covers all aspect of humanity, not just abortion and gay marriage. Black Liberation Theology puts the gospel back in perspective by understanding how the message relates to the black race and its culture. The theology demands that the liberation of Jesus Christ which frees us must be extended to "all" people. Its about justice and justice is about harmony. It seems as though you are determined to vilify Dr. Wright so you went researching until you found someone who could make Dr. Wright "seem" worse. Please do your homework, folks. Rev. Wright himself says that James Cone is his mentor regarding so-called "black liberation theology." If you care enough to look into this, you will find out. Just Google James Cone with Jeremiah Wright; it will only take a few seconds. Once you've done that, then go back and read the above quotes from Cone's books, or better yet, read James Cone's books yourself and decide if you agree with their theology. Then, if you don't care that black liberation theology portrays everything as a struggle between the "white oppressor" and the "black oppressed", and if you don't care about all of the horribly racist statements which they try to pass off a theology, then by all means, vote for Obama. He was asked to explain the mission statement published by Trinity Church which contained an extreme Afrocentric list of beliefs and goals. The Rev Wright himself in that interview and from his own lips said he was a follower of James Cone and Cone's beliefs which Wright incorporated into the core framework of Trinity Church. Is there a vein in barak that suggests he hates white people? I hate white history and I hate it a lot! It is BAD history. And many honest white people hate it too. Still I dont hate white people who dont embrace that history. Now Wright is confrontational about that history. But he is not inaccurate about its alarming effects on black people, in fact on the rest of the world. My rejection of Wright is that he is angry and non-reconciallatory, not that he is inaccurate. O'bama on the other hand is probably like me. Though he knows and is not in denial about the history of white america he CHOOSES to look to a new future. That's what is big about him. If he pretended that history was not true he would be a denialist. So I can understand how he would associate himself with a church that reminds everyone about the evils of white american history. I,ve seen the full video of Reverend Wright's speeches, and frankly, it doesn't really alter what he said, namely, that America has no right to be indignant about 9/11 since America bombed Khaddafi after he executed a hijacking that killed Americans and since America declared war on Iraq after it invaded Kuwait, and Iraqi civilians were killed in the Gulf War, at least that's what Wright says. Indeed, Jeremiah Wright is an honest and upright man.

But you Paul are certainly not. I dont know what Wright says about Iraq. Not even being American I was personally very very very proud when America attacked Iraq after Iraq invaded Kuwait. I was assured of a sustainable international governance to see a small country's sovereignty and self determination being restored. But not when Bush attacked the same Iraq under so much cloud of doubt, which turned out fabrications and lies. I was disturbed for the same reasons: the erosion of a sustainable international governance and interference (to put it slightly) with the soverignty of other states and regions. Justice is a universal concept, not of the racist white american.

To remind Obamaman and myself: All man have been slaves and slave-keepers at one historical point or another. Africans even, and some still are, slaves and keepers. So dont dwell on that point so skewly. What Obama means, is to look to the future. But not out of denying an ugly past to which all man have contributed, and many still do, like the racist white (and some black) americans who happen to form a very big part of that latter group.

"I am a minister and I'm not Jeremiah Wright" and I'm saying GOD BLESS AMERICA" which indeed was a potshot at Wright/Obama and Bill laughed it off and clapped with everyone else and never distance himself from it and went on and politicked for HRC like it was nothing. Then you have Gov Ed Rendell of Pennsylvania who is not held responsible, or accountable enough for this statement. “A Black Man is not electable because Whites won't vote for him" and lets not forget Adelfa Callejo of Texas who said this “Obama won't win in Texas because Obama simply has the problem that he happens to be black."
