New evidence shows the Clintons once welcomed Jeremiah Wright
Staff Reporter | Posted March 21, 2008 9:20 AMThe Obama campaign provided the New York Times with a photograph of then President Bill Clinton shaking hands with Rev. Wright in the residence of the White House. The picture was taken during a September 1998 prayer breakfast shortly after Clinton had acknowledged his affair with Monica Lewinsky.
In addition to the photograph, newly released schedules from then First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton indicate that she also attended the prayer breakfast along with Rev. Wright and other religious leaders.
At the breakfast, Bill Clinton reportedly told the group: "I don't think there is a fancy way to say that I have sinned."
