New evidence shows the Clintons once welcomed Jeremiah Wright

I am not surprised. Rev. Wright has been and will continue to be more than just a thirty second sound bite. He has traveled the world on behalf of the disenfranchised and poor.

Rev. Wright was obviously well respected enough to be invited to White House. Truly an eye opener unlike what our folks at Fox would want us to believe.

Shaking someones hand is not spending 20 years going to his church, spending personal time with him, having him be a senior advisor for your campaign, etc,etc,etc. I could go on but I won't bye bye Obama. I would never vote for you now.

If you would let the negative comments of Wright completely Sway your decision on who you elect for the Democratic Nomination - you've surely lacked any form of real research on all of the candidates and why you support them. Voting isn't an "Eenie, Meenie, Miny Moe" game where you select what favors you at that particular moment. If you don't vote for Obama because of that, chances are you weren't going to vote for him anyway and if you were - I'd suggest basing your decisions on more than what just happens to be airing on the TV while you're flipping through the channels.

Oh boy, here goes the media "mugging" Bill Clinton again! This man was vetted out by the WH and, knew exactly where he stood on issues and what he has/had been saying, so, it shows, its typical of all politicians to have anyone in they figure they can get help from. And, come on now Mike, you weren't going to vote for Obama in the first place, if so, you would realize, that many people hear things in a church they don't agree with, so, that is just a lame cop out that so many of the HRC voters are now claiming. But, then again, I would never vote for Hillary because of her race baiting, and, she just started that, allegedly this past year, so, in the end, we can all pick and chose as to why we won't vote for a candidate, and, its what makes this a democracy, and, one that needs to end this Bush/Clinton stranglehold on it, which is why I say anybody but another Clinton, to which, many millions agree.

This photo does not surprise me. Truth be told, the photo of HRC and Tony Rezko didn't surprise me either. Notice how the Rezko attacks faded to black from HRC camp when that photo emerged... Along the same vein, it MIGHT explain, perhaps in part, why the Clinton camp remained so silient (all of a sudden) when this thing exploded in the media. Even Mike Huckabee came to the defense of Pastor Wright. It actually would have been a good look for Hillary to defend Obama... she might have gained a lil more credibility... might have actually had a heart (ok..ok oo that one was a little far-fetched I know). So I guess it was "OK" to attend the church prior to 9-11?

No it was to confirm, in part, the credit worthiness and reputation of this pastor in the public sector. Not just anyone gets invited to the White House to "pray" when POTUS makes a booboo. Only the religious elite. The cream of the Religious crop. People who know nothing about Wright have called him every name but a child of god. The sad part, is those same people who condemn the man for having the balls to "tell it like it is" knows NOTHING about him other than a thirty second clip.

LOL, these over the top Hillary Clinton supporters are the main reason I would never vote for her, along with the fact she isn't qualified for the job as most of the USA know, and one of the main reasons would never vote for her. The nonstop issue of blacks by them and her has been a bigger turn off than the last time David Duke ran for office here in Louisiana. Does she ever discuss REAL issues, other than Obama and his special rights and pass he allegedly gets from the media gets for being black? Being black gives him no more qualifications than hers being married to a former President. Several people have been invited to the White House. In fact, more blacks have passed through the White House when Bill was there, than ever - as employees or guests. One of Barack's advisors is directly linked to the company responsible for passport breach. If that were Hillary, she'd be toast. Since it's Barack, it's no big deal. Barack's close-minded supporters are one reason why I'd never vote for him. If he gets the nominee, I will be sitting out in November.

Jay, Did Mr. Peck also refer to Condileeza as Condi"Skeeza"? No, but Rev. Wright did. Was Mr. Peck girating his pelvic area as he gave his opinion about what Bill Clinton did to us. No, but Rev. Jay, I can appreciate the clip, as I've seen it several times now. However, the excuses you choose to give for this pastor is unbelieveable. Are you saying that he got carried away? This simply looks to be a certain style of his. I still believe that the black church experience has evolved over time into something that a lot people don't want to participate in. Let's also be fair, and admit that some comments were made as recent as December '07. My decision is asinine? Like you said, it's my right. And you have no right to insult me and any decision I CHOOSE to make. From where I'm sitting, it seems that Barack has enough support on his side. He certainly doesn't need mine. I live in GA, where he won by a landslide, so certainly I don't need to show up just to vote for him. I probably will go, because I haven't missed a vote, since I was eligible. I am beginning to wonder if any of the media has viewed the full video of Wright's sermon? He talks about Bill Clinton as a friend (compared to Bush). Not a mention about this in the media.

Openminded, If we were being “fair”, we would examine ALL the candidates' religious advisors, pastors, church affiliations, etc. We are not doing that are we? We are singling out Obama because the media improperly quoted (I’m being nice) the pastor out of context. In the meantime, while you and I are going back and forth on someone who is NOT running for office, the REAL issues that effect ALL American remains on the back burner… Yes, I do feel that sitting home in November is asinine. It wasn’t meant to be an insult, it’s my opinion. With the state of the economy, among other major issues in this country, I imagine that everyone would want to have their voices heard… to think that someone would stay home simply because their personal candidate didn’t make the cut, it asinine in my opinion. No disrespect. That’s just the way I see it.

The only reason we are going back and forth about the pastor, is because you posted a link of the pastor's sermon, and I responded to that. I believe some comments have been made about the other candidates, especially John McCain. In my opinion, the reason they are able to use these tapes against Barack, is because he's said "words matter", "i have the better judgement", "rev. wright is my spiritual advisor and mentor". Let's not forget that Barack denied that he heard these words, and that if he had, he would've left. Then, to make matters worse, he called his grandmother a "typical white person". This may not be bad or false, but it is being given a negative spun. It's funny that you want everyone to have their voices heard, when not everyone gets to vote for their candidate. Several candidates had dropped out by the SC races. What's also funny is that you ignore comments referencing not supporting Hillary if she gets the nominee, but want to call me (or my sitting it out) foolish.

Also, I think it's misleading to suggest that the Clintons had the same relationship with Rezko as Barack. It's also misleading to suggest that Bill had the same relationship with Rev. Wright as Barack. This site is very pro-Obama, to the point that the journalists would rather help the Obama campaign distort the facts, than report them. This photo proves nothing.

Openminded, First off, I appreciate the tenor of your retorts. I am pleased that we can disagree in a civil manner. My bad if you were offended by my “asinine” comment. Hope I cleared that up though. With that being said, it is undeniable, to most, that the media sensationalized this story with the intent to misrepresent both Obama and Wright. Everyone was quick to call Wright a monster… he’s a racist… he’s a sexist…. He’s anti-American. How could Obama associate himself with the likes of that? Yet, when the full sermon comes out to expose the media's "smear", we downplay it. We find something else to knit-pick. Why doesn’t this fact get blasted across the television... the evening news? MEDIA SMEAR'S OBAMA... What happened to fairness? Impartiality? Moreover, it appears this ‘demon’ Wright was “personally invited” to the WH to engage in a prayer service for Billy getting a hummer in the Oval office… the darkest hour of his presidency. Not just anyone gets an invitation to the WH. I hope we can agree on that, if nothing else. Furthermore, I am sorry you misunderstood my position on Rezko, Wright and the Clintons. My intent was not to allude to them having the “same” relationship, but rather to say that politics is a small world (as we are beginning to see front and center). Clinton campaign made it seem as though she never had any affiliation with either Rezko or Wright… ever. Then when the photos surfaced, her defense is “she takes hundreds of thousands of pictures”… true she does. It’s a great defense the first time around, but they’ve used it so much that it’s no longer moot. Truth be told, if we had access to ALL the documents she is withholding, we would probably be able to deduce the information ourselves… but she hasn’t and we can’t. As far as the quotes you listed above, let me hasten to say that I believe Obama was forced to make statements about his “spiritual advisor and mentor” because he was attacked both by the Clintons and the media for being Muslim. Which, ironically, is not a crime the last time I checked, but he is NOT, nonetheless. In fact, there still is quite a number of misinformed people that believe he’s a “closet Muslim”… This is where the “Twenty years” at the church came in, to dispel some of the media folklore… yet they too, turned that against him. “I believe some comments have been made about the other candidates” – this quote is in contrast to the rest of your post, because it alludes to uncertainty. This proves my point that Obama has unequivocally been pasted all over the media in a negative light and with misinformation. America doesn’t have to think about that, THEY KNOW… thanks to all the airtime devoted to it. Haage, Graham & company’s comments have gotten hardly any media attention. BTW… What does Clinton believe in anyway? While were at it, why don’t we admonish her for not being affiliated with an organized religion the way we did Obama? I am not suggesting that we do this, just citing the Double standard. As for ignoring adverse comments about HRC, as I’ve previously said on this site, I feel that sitting this one out in November is foolish; regardless who the candidate is. I have taken the same position in other articles posted earlier on this site… If I am engaging in debate and this comes up (as it did in ours) I have addressed it as such. While we differ in our political opinion, the point is that while we (democrats) go back and forth, the real issues don’t get airtime. When all the sex scandals and election buzz is over, the real issues will remain.

A few things. First, if I see that video clip of Rev. Wright one more time, I think I might hurl. While that snippet was taken out of context, he does, however, have a long track record of politically and racially charged commentary. I do agree with Obama, however, about the problem being that Rev. Wright speaks as if we haven't moved forward. That being said, it sickens me that as above reproach as the Obama campaign pretends to be, they couldn't wait to dig up a picture of Bill Clinton with Rev. Wright to take the spotlight off of them. This is quickly turning into "a typical" campaign. Finally, it amazes me (maybe it shouldn't) how quickly black folks are ready to bash the Clintons and fall at the feet of Obama over the last 6 months, when the Clinton presidency, while far from perfect, did more for blacks than any other administration in our history.
