Isiah Thomas fired as Knicks coach
Staff Reporter | Posted April 21, 2008 10:53 AM
Isiah Thomas was fired on Friday as the coach of the troubled New York Knicks. After a distracting and prolonged court battle in a sexual harassment suit against Thomas, his team went on to lose a franchise record-tying 59 games this season. The Knicks ended the season with a dismal record of only 23 wins and 59 losses.
"I just believe a new voice, a new coach, is necessary to change the direction of the team," new team president Donnie Walsh told the Associated Press. "This is a coveted job. People want to coach here."
Walsh said the Knicks didn't compete this year and the players were not motivated to try to win. Thomas will remain with the Knicks in an unnamed role.

Oh what a shame. Hopefully he will have time now to reconcile with his gay author son that he spent years ignoring.
Or maybe he can write a chapter in his no doubt soon to be written book about how he deserted Majic Johnson when he went public about his HIV. Majic could have really used the support at that time that this pompas ass could have offered.
Or maybe apologize to Ms. Brown for being what can only be referred to as acting like a typical heartless N word. If he were being described by a gangsta rapper he sure does fit the discription of one.
