Jeremiah Wright finally speaks out

Total waste of time, they are not gong to do but one thing, pick one or two phrases and spin them to not mean what he said. He should just keep his mouth shut.

He might as well speak. They are already twisting and will continue to twist his words to hurt Senator Obama. As an Obama supporter, I am urging all of Obama supporters to calm down and get prepared. The onslaught is coming. However, Senator Obama is smart enough and strong enough to handle it.

To Juan, Ray and Anon, What you guys are saying is as ignorant and asinine as those fools on the Fox channel. The man is speaking truth to power. And if Obama has a problem with what WRight said, what makes you think that he will be an advocate for us.

Well, I for one never said he wasn't telling the truth, but, as we all know, white folks don't want to hear the truth, they say we should all be happy to be here and still treated as second class citizens, no matter how far Obama has gone. Whites, Asians and Hispanics and recent immigrants are for the most part afraid to own up to thier own issues with blacks, and black men in particular, nothing new there, and, since race is in the race, anything to confirm thier fears is just what they need to be able to hear to justify thier own bigotry and Hill/Billy know this as well as McCain and the GOP.

For Obama's sake and for the sake of the rest of our country, maybe the Reverend can shut up NOW!

I encourage everyone to take the high road when posting on national media websites referencing Reverend Wright's PBS interview. The high road as in giving credit to Reverend Wright and PBS for providing Americans the opportunity to form their own opinion with full context provided on Reverend Wright in direct contrast to the obviously biased caricature of Reverend Wright without context that has been continuously broadcasted previous to this interview. There is no point nor any good purpose served for any Obama Supporter (including surrogates) to take the low road by perhaps expressing an opinion that the PBS interview is or will prove to be hurtful to Senator Obama. This is simply because what is done is done and it is better to make the best of it. Making the best of it includes the fact that no one should pretend that the "Reverend Wright Controversy" was dying down prior to this interview. It was not and will not....see North Carolina....with or without the PBS interview. So at the very least Reverend Wright has now taken the opportunity to provide media pundits with a reasonable positive contrast to the existing broadcasted superficial negative soundbites of him and given his overall depth of great intelligence and Christian character demonstrated in the PBS interview, I believe that such a distinct contrast has been drawn and in turn it will work in Senator Obama's long-term favor and perhaps even in the short-term. Personally, I will be challenging all members of the national media to "soundbite" to their hearts content the brilliant comments and personal historical perspective that Reverend Wright has provided all Americans on this issue tonight. Rev Wright you have had your 15 minutes in the spotlight. Please don't have the black community wonder if you are trying to fill the void of ol' Jessie. After listening to the comments you made at the NAACP convention it is hard to believe that you are trying to "help" Mr. Obama. No you did not come right out and say white people are devils but we all know (us black folks) just what you meant on a sly. This is america and you are entitled to voice your opinion but now it is time to say enough is enough.

Not noticed by news media and others during the Moyer broadcast, right off I noted Wright's fingernails are manicured and polished. This is unusual for a man and this is a signal of an opulent and elitist lifestyle. Fingernail condition may seem trivial but this is a glimpse at the true nature of a person as are many other physical signals. Wright's hands are soft and lacking callus. His clothes are very expensive and tailored. Another note is Wright never accepted responsibility for his words rather he blamed his words upon others. Regardless if his words are right or wrong, a person should accept responsibility for his words and stand behind his words. Wright played the "poor pitiful black me" game. This game is old and worn-out. Wright pulled up events of long ago, some events centuries old, to justify his words today. Wright is out of touch with reality. Instead of accepting reality, Wright twisted reality around to fit his words, to fit his agenda. An example is his mention of America dropping atomic bombs on Japan. He casts this as a terrorist event. Wright does not acknowledge those two horrific bombings saved millions of lives and prevented the utter destruction of all of Japan through avoiding a type of warfare which devastated all of Europe. Let's be clear, Rev. Wright's gifts are not the gifts of uniting like Barack Obama or the Gifts of healing and reconcilliation like Barack Obama's or a modulated speaking voice, cool temper, and demeanor under fire like Barack Obama's or his ability to look beyond color and party affiliation like Barack Obama, and to simply just love, like Barack Obama! And when both meet their Maker -- God will judge Rev. Wright on his actions/words and His deeds only and Barack Obama on his words and deeds, only, not Rev. Wright's or anyone elses'! However, maybe Rev. Wright for the good of Barack's nomination could have waited to become more vocal in his pursuit of setting the record straight. He did not, so I think it is unfair of media or anyone else to Judge Barack by Rev. Wright's words or actions and to lose sight of the wonderful gift we have in Barack Obama and his ability to Change a nation because Rev. Wright's ego had to be heard! It is very clear to onlookers that Rev. Wright's style and Barack Obama's style are so disimmilar and so different as day and night, so maybe that is the one good thing about the sudden exposure now of Rev. Wright and the media coverage, one can see these men's styles are world's apart! -- These men are not the same! And on the otherhand, is it unfair of media not to enquire of Hillary Clinton, that when she and Bill faced Impeachment, did they not turn to Rev. Wright for prayer and support and invite him to the White House? And, in the last analysis, do you want to be Judged on someone elses' actions and words Or your owns?

Anyone catch Wright's subtle gay bashing? Listen to the Moyer interview carefully. You will hear Wright first condemn sodomy then catch himself in another "gaffe" followed by quickly associating sodomy with rape to cover for his slip-of-the-tongue subtle gay bashing. He needs to shut up. I watched his PBS interview and thought quite highly of Rev. Wright. Then he went to the NAACP and got ig'nant. He is just enjoying being in the spotlight and is letting his ego override the greater good.
