Wright would have been used against Obama if John Edwards was in the race instead of Hillary, if Mike Gravel were still in instead of Hillary, if Bill Richardson were still in instead of Hillary, and so on. I think it's “politically expedient” (much like Obama's repudiation of Wright yesterday) to try to blame this one on Hillary. It's called free speech and it was Reverend Wright who chose, in the last few days, to underscore exactly what he meant when he spewed those hateful words all of those years as pastor of Trinity. This was Reverend Wright's doing, nothing more. Trying to point fingers is what got Obama in the mess that he's in right now.

Had he denounced Wright, say 5, 10 years ago, or heck, even if he had denounced him when he first started his presidential campaign, all of this would be moot. Wasn't it Obama himself who said in his eloquent speech on race relations that he "could no more disown [Wright] than he could disown the black community."?? Now, just six weeks later and following Wright uttering (again) the very words that caused Obama to give his speech in the first place, Obama is "disgusted", "saddened", "offended"....??? THIS MAKES NO SENSE!!!! Wright has simply restated the exact same things that had been captured on those video clips and pointed out that Obama was just a regular politician saying what he needed to say to get out of hot water and SUDDENLY, Obama is incensed. GIVE ME A BREAK! Let's think logically about this people-could it be that he realized that Wright calling him a regular old politician completely unveils the pretense that is his campaign and he knew he had to do something quick, fast, and in a hurry to save his already sinking ship?? How's that for a theory? Sounds a lot more logical than Hillary going through the trouble of "setting up" Wright. HERE IS MY THEORY: Wright said hateful and disgusting things, Obama realized this would be problematic for his campaign bid and uninvited Wright to be a part of the launch of his campaign, Obama thought he was in the clear with the Wright situation and invited him be a part of his ministry board on the campaign (despite what he knew about Wright), MSM finally got their noses out of Obama’s ass long enough to actually start running this story, Obama was busted but too much of a coward to actually submit to a press conference so he did what he does best—give a speech (more like an unnecessary lecture in my opinion but that’s neither here nor there), Obama attempted (in his speech) to justify why Wright spewed such hatred in such a vitriolic manner, Obama couldn’t disown Wright out of fear of losing his lock on 90% of the black vote, so he justified some more, and he justified the comments some more (in several different forums), Obama could not shake Wright, Obama lost PA miserably and he realized for the first time that he might actually have an electability problem (um, many of us have been saying this for quite some time), much to Obama’s dismay, Wright reemerged to soak up his 15 minutes of fame, but to also provide the same justifications that Obama did during his race speech for the hatred, Obama dismissed the comments when initially asked about the things Wright was talking about during this recent reemergence, Obama realized his campaign was sinking fast and that he would have to act (way to take Karl Rove’s advice Obama), and Obama did the “politically expedient” thing and ran damage control, part 2—the press conference he FINALLY submitted to yesterday.

Don’t blame this on Hillary folks, this is Obama’s problem and it’s been festering for quite some time now, it speaks directly to his electability in the fall against Mccain and proves that he can’t win. This is what the Dems get when they become more worried about being politically-correct and less worried about vetting their candidates properly.

All these people are humans. There are facts available which evidence Reynolds supports Wright and likes the man which contradicts your thoughts. Reynolds has spoke out and states she did not "setup" Wright to harm Obama.

I will play along and assume Reynolds setup Wright as a political tool. My response would be, "So what?" Obama not being able to effectively deal with this issue signals me he is not ready for the Oval Office. Obama needs to stop playing the victim and toughen up.
