KKK symbol and cross burning stun an Oregon community

Based on what limited evidence and limited news is available on this abhorrent incident, it is highly unlikely the Ku Klux Klan is involved. Before readers begin screaming I am defending the KKK, I am not. This reads to be teenage skin heads are responsible. There is a lack of sophistication and a lack of planning exhibited which is not consistent with the well organized Ku Klux Klan. Additionally, the age of the suspects is not consistent with the KKK which is predominately populated by older adults, typically middle-aged and older, white men. At risk of making a fool of myself, I would hedge a bet these boys are high school seniors or fresh out of high school, are skin heads, have a lot of tattoos, listen to speed metal bands, wear baggy pants and hooded zippered sweatshirts. Chances are high these boys are of affluent middle class families and their parents are as irresponsible as these boys. Both mothers and fathers of those boys probably work full time jobs. No doubt all are white. I will further risk appearing a fool by suggesting these boys performed average to poor in school and have school discipline records exhibiting more problems than what would be average for students. I would expect these discipline problems to originate back to a lack of effective discipline at home and a lack of parental involvement in teaching good moral values. This seems a typical teenage peer group incident rather than a racial incident. Yes, their actions are of a racial nature but I doubt these boys truly understand racism and probably are not hard core racists as we expect of those of the Ku Klux Klan. I am not defending the KKK nor defending these boys. Clearly this is to be considered a hate crime and those boys should be jailed for a long time. However, I question if this is truly a hate crime. Reads to me this is a peer group thing caused by a lack of good education and a lack of good parenting. Too bad we cannot toss parents in jail for their failure to be responsible parents. I agree w/Purl Gurl. We had a similar incident involving a hs senior spray painting racial language in north ATL. He waited until he graduated to express his surpressed ignorance. I guess spewing hate isn't as popular when people can retaliate with force.

Start looking at the alleged victim, most of these crimes are hoaxes carried out by the alleged victims themselves.

Here's the last time a simialr incident happened, burned cross in the lawn etc... and it too turned out to be a hoax perpetrated by the alleged victim. This incident sounds very similar, I'd bet a dollar the so-called victims did it themselves.
