Hip hop Republican: You are as confused as Hip Hop. You stand with a lot of people who hate others because they are poor, or of another race. Remember, the true definition of hate is to “love less.” You stand with people who support death and destruction. You stand with people who worship Mammon (riches). With that said: I served in the military for 24 years. What did I do? Security Forces/Antiterrorism. This “war” isn’t one, and we went into it on a lie. That has been proven. The world is fighting terrorism. We’re not the only ones. Yet, the world is not at war. Barak HAS been consistent and his positions involve thought, and forethought (vision, in case you don’t know what that is). Our country is involved in legalized killing in Iraq (and spending money on it that we don’t have), and our economy is hurting. This would not be the case if we had a righteous leader. If we had a righteous leader, over a hundred thousand people wouldn’t be dead right now (because of the Iraq war), Osama Bin Laden would have been caught, NAFTA and all of our trade laws would have been revisited and corrected to support our interests, our government wouldn’t have been able to clamp down on consumers (with revising the bankruptcy laws) and let corporations run amuck, justice would be served throughout the land to ensure that all are treated equally, regardless of race, and regardless of class, and we wouldn’t be hated so much around the world. Even our enemies would be at peace with us. But what do we see? Hatred, corruption, cronyism, racism, and kickbacks, and your Conservatives have been leading the charge. If you research, you’ll see that they really don’t want everyone to succeed; like crabs in a barrel. They stack the deck against us. Common sense says don’t stack the deck. Make it easier for people to succeed. Educate them properly. By American standards, I’m personally doing well. I’m retired military, educated, Christian, and middle class (own my home, got cash in the bank, great credit, very little debt, and earn six figures a year), and definitely NOT A REPUBLICAN. Should I value every life as equal, even an Iraqi life? You bet! Should my concerns go beyond the threshold of my home? Without a doubt!! I understand that I need to quit thinking only of myself. It’s called “denying myself” and “loving my neighbor as myself.” I understand God for myself. Don’t need a preacher for that. Any minority or poor person trying to make it that sides with the conservatives, sides against him or herself. It’s called “self destruction, we’re headed for self destruction.” Remember that? Conservatives, remember these two things: 1. Pro life should be from the womb to the tomb. Prolife should stand up for the born as well as the unborn. 2. We are Commanded to love, not to judge. Quit drinking the kool aid and search for true understanding.

How dishonest. Obama keeps claiming that he was opposed to the war from the start. What a lie! It's alright that he opposes it now, but he doesn't have to lie about what he used to think!

In Africa for instance the UN and the US has poured money billions into head of states who were never held accountable for the money they received..instead of giving the money to the people they misappropriated these funds and even when it was food used it as a tool to favor the rich.We now know because of the leadership approaches of people like Professor Muhammad Yunus the Managing Director of Grameen Bank in Dhaka, Bangladesh that if the west were to loan individuals not the state a small loan they could grow there business and feed there family and an entire village just with a $50 dollar loan. Now to call this form of free market solution to poverty hate is ridiculous and shows what that you have not bothered to hear the other sided point of view. As for the other rhetoric such as "I stand with people supported segregation" I will not respond given that a simple history lesson will tell you it was not the GOP that supported segregation...have a nice day!

While all candidates flip flop, it is important to point this matter out in relations to Obama. Throughout the primary he consistently maintained he would pull the troops out immediately, with in days of his inauguration. His stance almost became a central focus of his campaign. If you will recall one of this foreign policy advisers even said Barack Obama knew what he was saying on troop withdrawal would be reversed if he became the nominee. This same adviser was asked to leave his staff after making unkind remarks about his opponent Hillary Clinton. Some may say he isn't flip flopping but seeing the issues differently. We as a nation should vote a leader that will help us. I'm independent, but I can't stand to have someone lie to our faces everyday. Obama has lied and changed his views more times in the last few months. Once he gets in office,will he change again? He said one thing to get everyone excited, now he is changing to get other votes. When the civil rights act was passed by a democrat, where did the segregationists run to? These segregationist found a welcoming home in what is todays Republican party. There is now discussion of a better chance of having Clinton nominated because Obama is losing his "electability" potential. More people are beginning to realize Obama probably will not win against McCain.

Another political tactic developing is to defeat Obama by voting for McCain or not voting at all, setting up Clinton for our 2012 election cycle.

People out there are becoming increasingly angry with Obama for his dishonesty.

Obama has himself in a pickle by refusing government funding of his campaign and he is the first politician to do this. This betrayal of Americans by Obama is costing him dearly. Obama promised he would accept government funding to avoid special interests, and he did not keep his promise. Obama sold out to special interests, in a major way. Now major fund raisers are refusing to work with Obama and monetary contributions to his campaign are beginning to dry up. Obama might run out of money well before the November elections.

Obama did not gain much from Clinton "suspending" her campaign. Some Clinton supporters moved over to Obama but more and more Clinton supporters are joining the ranks of those who, when polled, indicate they will not vote for Obama or not vote at all.

Obama's narrow lead over McCain is diminishing, his popularity index is falling, increasing numbers of Obama hosile web sites, sponsored by democrats, are beginning to appear and beginning to be covered by the news media.

Our news media is now assuming a more hostile stance towards Obama, are questioning his sincerity and truthfulness.

Obama is slowly losing his rock star grip on Americans, and this is a direct result of Obama not being honest with Americans.

Private sector initiatives should be carefully regulated & monitored even controlled by the public sector, because operating withing poor public institutions the ever present profit motive turns them into vampires, which always prey on the most vulnerable. i.e. Blacks. So Black America today needs a stronger social safety net & run by the public sector. Business entities & institutions are currently way too corrupt to be trusted to deliver on those target groups. Maybe they will deliver but at another time.

Today, Obama voted in favor of the FISA bill.

Many times in the past, Obama promised Americans he would never vote in favor of this bill. Obama continues to twist his knife he stabbed in the back of America.

Ironically, Hillary Clinton voted against this FISA bill, just as she promised America she would.

Clinton keeps her word. Obama does not keep his word. Such poetic justice for gullible Americans who voted for Obama.

Personally, I prefer Obama over McCain. As a life long democrat I just can't see another 8 years of more of the same. That said though, I definitely agree with the author on the essence of his post. The only reason I am voting for Obama is based merely on his policies, which were pretty much the same as Sen. Clinton's (who I would have also voted for had she won the primary). I simply don't agree with a lot of McCain's positions on the important issues that concern Americans today. I do believe that Obama, however, does not represent a new kind of politics in the least. He is becoming more and more of a typical politician day by day and winning the presidency seems to take priority over his previous pledges and promises on said policies. This just goes to prove that it's all rhetoric and so far no substance. He is, however, doing a pretty darn good job of selling this "change from the way Washington does things" image to so many Americans. He is definitely a different kind of politician, but let's be clear about this: he's a different politician in the sense that no other politician has been able to make people believe that he is such a transcendental figure who can bridge the partisan divide in Washington. In this respect, he is in fact one of the greatest politicians Washington has had in a long time, while at the same time reinforcing the notion that we will get much more of the same once Barack Obama takes the Oval Office on January 20th, 2009. And yes, despite all the negativity I've expressed about Obama, I sincerely hope he does win. George Bush has put this country through hell and it's time to turn things around.
