Pastor in Liberia teaches youth to type

It may seem out of date in the modern computer age, but a pastor in Liberia is teaching young people to type...on typewriters. Pastor William Saydee says it's the best he can do to help his war-torn country in its slow process of reconstruction, according to the Voice of America report. He's profiled in the VOA's "Making A Difference" series.

In one scene from the VOA news clip, a 33-year-old night guard says he wants to make a living by becoming a secretary for an international company. Meanwhile, a barefoot resident of the community is seen walking behind him carrying a pail of water.

Settled by freed America slaves in 1822, Liberia has recently suffered through two civil wars since 1989. The First Liberian Civil War took place from 1989-1996, and the Second Liberian Civil War took was fought from 1999-2003. Hundreds of thousands of people were reportedly displaced by the war's and the country's economy has suffered.

But in the midst of the suffering, Pastor Saydee seeks to bring hope.
