Sherri Shepherd talks about her multiple abortions
Staff Reporter | Posted July 23, 2008 1:15 PMSherri Shepherd, a co-host on ABC's "The View," opened up today to reveal that she has had several abortions. The comment came in response to an interview published in a black Christian magazine called Precious Times.
Prompted by co-host Whoopi Goldberg, Shepherd explained her quote that "I've had more abortions than I can count." She said "Jesus had forgiven me," and wasn't being "flippant" about abortions and wasn't "glamorizing" it. "I wanted people to know that not everybody's perfect," Shepherd said.
Shepherd also caused a bit of controversy after the magazine quoted her in a statement that suggested that her boss, Barbara Walters, could be saved by evangelicals. "Oh sometimes I say, 'Lord, Juanita Bynum or Joyce Myers would be so good at this table.' They could lay hands on Barbara Walters and get her saved," Shepherd told the magazine.
Speaking on "The View" today, Shepherd said she had spoken to Barbara Walters and Walters laughed.

I am not a Christian, but I cringe whenever Sherri speaks on air....she makes Christians look so bad sometimes.

--EXAMPLE ONE: Sherri said that she believes the earth is flat ...watch it on youtube if you don't believe me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkrkaH_V7fE
--EXAMPLE TWO: Sherri said that she would not read her child Jeffrey a book about two male pinguins raising a baby together because its "not natural...and depicts homosexuality," which doesn't make sense because in the wild pinguins raises their children among male birds while the mothers go to hunt for long periods of time.
I know PLENTY of educated christians who represent the religion very well--sherri just is not one of those people. AND rather Barbara was offended or not by sherri's comments, doesn't mean I can't be offended by her self-righteous stance...how would you have felt if Barbara had said the same thing about converting Sherri to being a Jew??
Just like all religions, there are good and bad people involved, as well as smart and dumb ones.....you can guess where I believe Sherri falls on that list
2008-07-25 09:40:56
Even if Sherri was joking about what she said about Barbara, who would joke in public about converting their bosses religion?
...we don't know if barbara was offended or not. all we know is that the statement she releases said that she wasn't....she also said the same thing when Star was talking shit about her in the media and we see where that landed Star Jones: Fired!

...Most of us don't dislike Sherri because of her approach to christianity; we simply dislike her because she comes across like an idoit...it no different that my disdain with George Bush or any other public figure that refuses to use their brain before they speak.
ADDITIONALLY, Sherri is judging and "casting stones" in saying that Barbara needs to be "saved"
