Welcome to Earl's Fantasy World
Jeff Winbush | Posted July 3, 2008 1:45 AMUsually, I don't take jabs at other columnists because they're just expressing an opinion same as I am. Every now and then though, I have to call a "time out" on someone who has let their petty biases and prejudices run rampant.
Typically, I enjoy Earl Ofari Hutchinson's writing. I agree with his views on police brutality and how the Black Community has dropped the ball in the oppression of gays and lesbians. He is one of the best in the business. Lately though, I've had to be very selective in determining which of his columns are worth reading and which are not.
You see Hutchinson doesn't like Barack Obama. Not much. And it shows.
A casual viewing of his columns indicates how little he thinks of Obama:
"Does Obama Profit from White Guilt? (Who cares? The real problem is that the media treats him with kid gloves)"
"Obama Needs a History Lesson about Hillary and King. (The Obama campaign has misunderstood a comment by Senator Clinton about MLK's role in the civil rights movement)"
"Obama's Farrakhan Problem (Obama can't denounce the Nation of Islam leader without alienating many black voters)"
Even when Hutchinson isn't talking about Obama, he can't resist sticking it to him.
"Gender is Hillary Clinton's Achilles Heel (No one would dare make a blatantly racist comment about Obama. Yet sexist remarks are constantly spewed at Hillary Clint on)"
And all this time I thought Hillary's Achilles Heel was the one she married. That, and the fact she came into the campaign with more money, more endorsements, more organization and as the prohibitive front-runner and pissed away every single advantage. Books will be written on how historically inept and how monumentally awful a campaign Hillary Clinton ran.
Besides being totally in the bag for Hillary Clinton AND a full-time Obama basher, Hutchinson, a pretty smart guy, has his lapses of sheer idiocy He recently wrote an article for The Daily Voice, slamming Obama over his Father's Day speech.
Hutchinson writes, "Obama commits the cardinal error that every critic from the legions of sociologists, family experts, politicians and morals crusader Bill Cosby who have hectored black men for being father derelict have made. He omits the words "some," "those," or "the offenders" before black fathers. Instead, he makes, or at least gives the impression, that all, or most, black men aren't in the home, and are irresponsible. That being the case ipso facto they are the cause for the much fingered crime-drugs-violence-gross underachievement syndrome that young black males are supposedly eternally locked into."
Okay, Earl. That's your side of the story. Here is Obama's from his Father's Day speech:
Of all the rocks upon which we build our lives, we are reminded today that family is the most important. And we are called to recognize and honor how critical every father is to that foundation. They are teachers and coaches. They are mentors and role models. They are examples of success and the men who constantly push us toward it.
But if we are honest with ourselves, we'll admit that what too many fathers also are is missing - missing from too many lives and too many homes. They have abandoned their responsibilities, acting like boys instead of men. And the foundations of our families are weaker because of it.You and I know how true this is in the African-American community. We know that more than half of all black children live in single-parent households, a number that has doubled - doubled - since we were children. We know the statistics - that children who grow up without a father are five times more likely to live in poverty and commit crime; nine times more likely to drop out of schools and twenty times more likely to end up in prison. They are more likely to have behavioral problems, or run away from home, or become teenage parents themselves. And the foundations of our community are weaker because of it.
How many times in the last year has this city lost a child at the hands of another child? How many times have our hearts stopped in the middle of the night with the sound of a gunshot or a siren? How many teenagers have we seen hanging around on street corners when they should be sitting in a classroom? How many are sitting in prison when they should be working, or at least looking for a job? How many in this generation are we willing to lose to poverty or violence or addiction? How many?
Yes, we need more cops on the street. Yes, we need fewer guns in the hands of people who shouldn't have them. Yes, we need more money for our schools, and more outstanding teachers in the classroom, and more afterschool programs for our children. Yes, we need more jobs and more job training and more opportunity in our communities.
But we also need families to raise our children. We need fathers to realize that responsibility does not end at conception. We need them to realize that what makes you a man is not the ability to have a child - it's the courage to raise one.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't see anything controversial or untrue about those remarks. I'm surprised Hutchinson does. Apparently he believes Obama saying out loud what many African-Americans only say privately is giving aid and comfort to the enemy. Hutchinson doesn't much like Obama messing with his idealized, fantasy world where every brother who impregnates a sister stands by her, supports her and is a father, instead of just a sperm donor.
Me, I'm wondering how much he pays in rent to live in this Black Utopia of his.
One day, I'd like to take him for a drive around my town on the first sunny day of spring. He would see the trees and lawns turning green, the birds happily chirping as they gather twigs to build their nests and most of all he'd see hordes of little Black girls pushing strollers and/or carrying their babies. What he won't see are any young brothers with those baby mamas. They're too busy holding in one hand the leash of a straining pit bull and their crotches with the other.
Or am I stereotyping?

This is not a "supposed" issue; Obama is flip-flopping like a wet fish on hot dirt. Obama is not simply talking out of both sides of his mouth, Obama is talking out of both sides of his mouth, through his nose along with blowing smoke from his rear and both ears.
All politicians flip-flop. There are no exceptions. However, when a politician performs an about-face on critical core issues, this becomes highly problematic and tends to lose votes for a politician. Popularity of Obama is waning, he is losing ground per polls.
Obama is exemplifying for me he cannot be trusted any farther than you can flick a sticky booger.
Early on, Obama taunted his "change" policy, his breaking away from old school politics. Today, we know, with great annoyance, Obama is simply another pandering lying politician whose only intent is to satiate his ego. His boasting of "change we can believe in" is a core issue, is his party platform foundation. Now we know Obama was and is simply lying through his teeth like all other politicians. Obama is not offering change, Obama is offering the same old political game, "say anything to become elected."
McCain has and is flip-flopping. However, McCain is sticking to his promised core issues; his centrist conservative agenda. Yes, McCain, like Obama, needs to incorporate some changes in response to voter demands. However, McCain is sticking to his core party platform foundation. McCain is exemplifying he can be trusted. Obama is exemplifying he cannot be trusted.
McCain sends a message he is in this race because he truly wants betterment for America. Obama sends a message he is in this race to masturbate his ego. McCain is willing to speak his mind and take risks. Obama is only willing to speak what voters want to hear, with little risk taking.
Many years back, McCain attended a closed meeting with Sandinista rebels. One of those rebels so annoyed McCain he grabbed this rebel by his shirt front and lifted the man out of his chair, then McCain verbally assaulted the man. Some may disagree with this but I find this very refreshing; McCain is tough, is presidential material.
Obama is far too sissified to attempt sending such a strong message.
McCain is known for yelling "f-word you!" at other Capital Hill politicians. I like this. McCain refers to some as "jerks" and "assholes." I also like this.
Obama, not a chance. Obama will only orate and annoy by not ever taking a risky firm stance.
There is a distinct difference between Obama and McCain related to flip-flopping. Obama is a sissy, is fearful to take an assertive stance, is quick to surrender. Obama is a spin doctor who had not kept a single word of his. McCain is a Rambo who keeps his word and is willing to take on risks.
Obama is a wet-behind-the-ears fish on hot dirt flip-flopping like crazy. McCain leaps up from the waters, flips over, but always splashes back into his conservative waters.
There is valid reason to dislike Obama; he cannot be trusted, he is a wavering sissy, he surrenders his dignity and America's dignity for the sake of his fragile ego.

Obama promised change and this is what America is getting from him on a daily basis; Obama changes his mind more often than a woman changes her shoes.
Numerous other articles are appearing discussing Obama having to frequently hold secondary subsequent news conferences to explain away his change in position on issues. Obama is more often being challenged about not keeping his word. A good example are these blistering critiques he is suffering because of his sudden change in stance on the war in Iraq. Rather clear Obama is adopting the stance of John McCain. Obama supporters are up in arms about this.
Of equally increasing frequency are articles discussing annoyance with Obama never really saying much of anything. Obama provides flowery speeches but never discusses meat and potatoes. To me, Obama comes across as a "Who's On First" comedy routine by Abbott and Costello.
Strikes me Earl Hutchinson is right, Obama should be constantly critiqued because none can truly understand what Obama is talking about; Obama talks a lot but never delivers a coherent message.
Rather clear Obama was never on the Harvard debate team; Clinton ripped Obama apart during debate and now Obama is fearful to debate McCain.
Late last year, I supported Obama. Only took a short time and a little bit of research to realize Obama is a double talker and a very poor public speaker. Without a practiced script, without a TelePrompTer, Obama turns into the oracle firm of Stutter, Stammer and Stall. Obama is certainly not the man to take that 3:00 A.M. phone call requiring quick decisive action.
I switched over the Clinton after observing her and researching her. Clinton is quick to move into details and is quick with a knowledgeable response to any issue, planned or surprise. Clinton is a walking encyclopaedia. Clinton has and does stick to her word and she never stammers.
With the Democratic National Committee and our media handing the democratic nomination to Obama as an affirmative action move, I am now with McCain. I do not much agree with McCain but I know McCain keeps his word, even his cuss words.
Obama is flip-flopping so much, is going back on his word so much, is caught in so many lies, his followers are wavering in their support of Obama, are beginning to display anger, even beginning to abandon Obama. Polls are reflecting a slow backslide for Obama, he is certainly losing support. I and many others contribute this directly to Obama not keeping his word.
But the emperor has no clothes!
Obama has fooled himself into believing none will see him for the double talking naked politician he truly is.

AGAIN MORE VENOM FROM PISSY PURL,/p>
I must ask Pissy Purl. Why do you come here with your negativity pulling up bogus articles, and or taking something someone said out of context for your enjoyment of hatred of Senator Obama?
Since your're such a Clinton furburger. Can you prove that neither one her, or Bill has ever flip-flopped? Matter of fact can you prove that any congressman, or woman has not ever flip-flopped? I didn't think so
Your such an evil ass woman. Okay if he loses. Will you please go to hell and burn with all of the other scorned women who McCain will hurt with the right wing justices he will put on the Supreme Court and trust me HE WILL DO SO if he wins
Also, tell me what have Caucasians done so much for American Indians that you're all up in their ass the way you are
Just a few thoughts
