When does it end? Detroit mayor charged with lying about other affairs

Perjury is certainly no laughing matter (especially in the case of elected officials) but it seems that Detroit has many more pressing issues (like say...employment, housing, social services, schools, crime to name but so few)than who the mayor is diddling or cheating with. I can see if the argument here is that Kilpatrick is misappropriating city funds to conduct these affairs or he is not fulfilling his duties as Mayor because of these affairs...but does everyone really need to know what text message he sent some woman who wasn't his wife? Seems like such a waste of time, energy, and more importantly money that can be much better spent.

clearly someone is trying to sabatoge this brother...granted he is a liar and cheater, but damn. is his personal affairs really affecting his position as Mayor. i'm hoping he wasn't using his status to be a "player"...and i really hope people realize that text messaging is EVIL...lol!

I mean given how phyne this young brotha is its no wonder that he has to fight the women off!! He does need to excercise much better discretion, but you really can't hate the player..............hate the game!!! Keep it poppin pimpin!!

Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s romantic text messages should be between only him and his wife. However, there is a second perjury charge about not firing 2 police officers. That is what I fault the mayor for. The police officers were investigating another case which could have exposed the mayor’s extra marital affairs. He settled a law suit by the police officers against him and the city for $8.4 million (tax payers’ money) on the condition that his extra martial affairs remain hidden, even from the common council who approved the settlement. The mayor could have settled with the police officers for a small fraction of the final settlement several years before the case came to trial, long before the text messages came into the picture. His arrogance would not let him settle early. He thought he could beat it. As mayor, he is a good mayor. He knows how to get things done. His future looked great.

Don't let nobody talk about yallz boy Kwame. He didn't get in office on his own, the citizens of Detroit voted his azz in there. He can't help if the womens is throwing they self at him. I would too. He fine. Kim Worthy just a hater - her old ugly self.
