Displaced New Orleans residents complain about shelter conditions
Staff Reporter | Posted September 3, 2008 12:30 AMSome residents of New Orleans who have been housed in shelters to escape from Hurricane Gustav are upset about the deteriorating conditions of the place where they have been housed.
Three thousand people have been crowded into a shelter at a former Sam's Club near Shreveport, where they have no showers and are forced to take baths out of the sinks, according to the Associated Press.
"We have not had a shower. We don't have clothes. They are treating us real bad," said one resident.
