Obama needs to fight
Kola Boof | Posted September 10, 2008 8:57 AMJesus Christ was a community organizer back when Pontius Pilate was governor -- and if Barack Obama truly expects to win this election in a nation so frightened of a biracial man's blackness that said candidate can't risk criticizing a white woman opponent (who cries "sexism" every other lie out of her mouth) for fear that even the most liberal whites will be scared out of voting for him -- then Barack Obama's campaign needs to stand up now and fight.
This woman, Governor Sarah Palin, who has single-handedly turned this campaign into a genuine contest by sheer tactic of propping sex against skin color is my sister by gender, it's true. I am proud of her accomplishments in a female body. Like Sarah Palin, I am a member of the NRA and as an originally orphaned female from one of the poorest parts of the world, I have the bitter third world experience it takes to appreciate capitalism; I support creationism (as well as any other hunch) and I'm extremely concerned about terrorism and Arab Muslim imperialism. I don't for one second share the typical black American view regarding so called "dark brothers" in the Islamic Middle East. Like most dark skinned North Africans, I am an unwavering supporter of Israel. Many times in my life, Republicans have mistaken me for one of them.
But as an American female, I also know that Sarah Palin's a poor excuse for this century's "Vice President most likely to end up President of the most powerful nation on earth" role. And if one looks even casually at her policies, she's more against women than she is for us.
She is against equal pay for women. She's against women having abortion rights even when the pregnancy is caused by rape. She's a self-appointed "God speaks to me" war mongering preacher who stated it is God's will that we stomp human beings in Iraq in the name of every snow loving bully whose blood ever ran in her family's blue veins.
When tons of placards at the Republican National Convention carried the slogan: "Hottest Babe from the Coolest State," Sarah Palin didn't cry sexism. When her fellow conservative Republican sister Dr. Laura Schlesinger criticized her for neglecting a newborn with Down syndrome and seeking office before her children were grown, Sarah Palin didn't cry sexism.
Yet whenever anyone even vaguely supporting Barack Obama and Joe Biden brings up the fact that as mayor of a ghost town in Alaska, Sarah Palin hired a lobbyist to secure $27 million in federal earmarks -- suddenly Barack Obama's a sexist pig due to his supporters (women like me) pointing out the fact that Governor Palin's not about reform or change, but about cloaking the same old politics in a shiny new package -- a skirt and some heels.
Please, I beg you all reading this -- let's look at the facts.
This governor preaches abstinence and opposes sex education in schools, yet her own teenage daughter is pregnant and set to marry what would be called a "statutory rapist" in any decently-run community. Her husband's a two-time member of a political party that's stated unequivocally its hatred for America. And when good old girl Sarah didn't like copies of certain books being read at the local library, she used her political office to try and have those books banned!
Whiney-voiced breast-thumping "I'm Sarah Palin and I'm bad" posturing aside -- do we really want the Dukes of Hazzard in the White House?
I'm frankly sick of this campaign and the blatant double standards being lodged against Democrats (and a few notable Republicans; Peggy Noonan's comments come to mind), who are tired of being told that we have to accept this bona fide all-salt Ham known as Sarah Palin as some kind of second coming of Hillary Clinton.
She's nowhere in Hillary's league -- nowhere near it!
As I stated before, Jesus Christ was a community organizer, but as we all know in our guts, rich, privileged Republicans have always translated the phrase "community organizer" to mean "militant trouble maker." Neo-con Miss Anne's like Sarah Palin claim they're about change, but when they spit on my candidate for being a community organizer, it proves that all they really want is to keep this nation from culturally expanding and progressing - -and cultivating a survival pool for the poor and middle class.
Someone from the Obama campaign contacted me about an earlier article I wrote for The Daily Voice -- requesting that I not attack Palin's family. Let me say that I respect and admire that effort at cleanliness by Obama, but I also know that Barack Obama will not win this election if he and his supporters don't fight that element to which they're giving the benefit of the doubt.
We who love this country and have a stake in its future need to stand up and fight for this man, Barack Obama. This man...as the African ancestors of both blacks and whites would say...we, the people, dreamed him into being.
We need to speak with honesty and we need to reject any and all outrageous claims by Sarah Palin or the Republican party that her gender exempts her offensive record of misrepresenting women in politics off limits to the voting public. She's a sham and neither her record nor her wetness behind the ears is off limits.
Americans need to stop playing pop culture roulette and fight for something better than a half-baked Hillary imposter. Barack Obama - -he is the one that white women and black women alike dreamed into being! I don't care what Cornel West, Tavis Smiley or Earl Ofari Hutchison have to say. Barack Obama is the future!
Now if you're really real, then let's do this. As an immigrant American citizen who deeply loves this country, support Obama; support the future! Get out there and fight!

Please don't tell me that Edward is that Churchill-Y queen from Queerty spewing Gay hate against Obama I have seen that CHANGE list so many damn times I can quote by memory
All you're wrote doesn't prove anything my dear McCain by far is no saint
So if you're not going to vote for Obama cast your vote McInsane/Stalin and be done with it
Go home and bait with your Mother and Father I see they have taught you well

For me, Obama may have lost the election when he chose not to choose Clinton as VP. For me that was plain immoral. It was contrary to the message of reconciliation and hope that people can work together for change no matter where they come from or what differences they may have had. So if he loses, the blame lays on him and his stupid advisors squarely.
I have always wanted Barack to win the election, but I hate that he could not extend that olive branch to Hillary, which could have been super iconic with respect to his brand-message.So, I have been very dissapointed, if not alarmed byt the manuevre. If he lost with Clinton by his side, that would have been honorable. But with Mr James White as window dressing, I dont think I care that much.
Nonetheless, I admire the energy in your writing. Though I still wait for you to write succintly about your gripes with Earl 'Hunch'-stone. I also think he is a loser. I'd like to know why you think that too.So, Good Luck with the message. And like they always say: every nation deserves its leaders. Maybe Pulin-McCain is the most accurate embodiment of good old little sick America after G.Bush

Most African-Americans see biracial people as "black" but most African people do not. On that basis I can understand why a Sudanese whose father taught her to be ashamed of the fact that she herself is biracial would not want to produce mixed kids.
She sees being "half Arab" as a defeat against her people.
This isn't rocket science. She also sees having a child by a WHITE MAN as having a "white" child. She doesn't see biracial as "black" To her its not her race.
My advice to mixed folks is that the more African people become exposed to the U.S. the more you had better prepare to hear these type of opinions based on the fact that most of them don't see very fair skinned people as black. Some of them want to marry white and have mixed kids, some of them like Kola do not.
She has btw had an awful lot of interracial romances. I doubt she's the flaming racist people would like to claim.
I think its normal for a black woman to want to have black children just like the majority of white women want white kids.
"Horse" wrote that he's biracial and loves Kola and was treated really well by her. This reminds me of how much I love all my White friends and treat them really great but would not necessarily want to give birth to a white person.
Are there any rational people who can relate to that?
I think 99% of us can. Her mistake is that she once said it out loud.
What actually made me admire Kola is that she refused to apologize for that statement and has never taken it back but expanded on it with even more brutal truths. Because of "NO ID" I found that out by reading her essay 'Colorism'. She's definitely got a foreign mindset but I can't deny the truth in what she's written. I also can relate to not wanting to see black people wiped out by all the mixing. I love me some redbones and mixed folk, but I don't want to see blacks eliminated either.

In the end we will become one mixed Brazilian race again, just the way we were at the begining. Whether mother wants it or not. And in time we will also be one global tribe. And also multi-sexual. I hope so anyway, evolutional time ticking. Tired of the burden of irrational identity wars.
Wish I was quadru-racial, like Mr Woods - LoL.2008-09-15 15:57:22
