Why Does Todd Palin Hate America?
Kola Boof | Posted September 3, 2008 12:55 AMWith nothing more than a few vague words to bend and reorder the context of, we tore Michelle Obama a new set of eyes and ripped out her tongue a few weeks ago. We accused her of being "an unpatriotic angry black woman"--and worst of all in what has now been proven to be a spate of mass reactionary paranoia--we unfairly demonized her as a hater of so called "Whiteys."
It's true that our beautiful and articulate future First Lady rebounded exquisitely. Her genuine warmth, class and intelligence making every woman in this nation proud during a hard-hitting interview on "The View" and during her glorious speech at the Democratic National convention--but now that her rather unjustified public flogging is barely behind us--there begs the question why such scrutiny over who is American enough and who is most patriotic doesn't extend to those whose personal backgrounds are legitimately egregious in this campaign--the husband of Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin, Todd Palin; and in all fairness, Governor Palin herself.
Though public records prove that Ms. Palin has always been registered as a Republican (and nobody knows the inaccuracy of public records better than the former Witness Protection Program multiple-identified authoress of this commentary, let me add)--those same records, as well as the testimony of various chairpersons in what is called the Alaskan Independent Party--a party that promotes "secession" from the United States as one of its most virally public, if not written, agendas--lists Palin's husband, Todd, as not only a two-time member of said Anti-American political party, but also as a currently "Non-Committed" voter.
If your wife is a sitting Republican Governor, then why not at least register a party affiliation?
It's horribly indicative of something non-Gubernatorial, I don't know what. And making matters worse is the fact that Sarah Palin herself has been heavily involved with her husband's Anti-American party--in 2008, as Governor, she welcomed the AIP to Fairbanks, and she's been cited by two different AIP chairpersons as having attended and socialized at an AIP function in 1994. There's no way she didn't know from the very beginning what AIP stands for and there's no way that she hasn't known her non-Republican husband has been a long time supporter of this group.
For those of you who don't know what AIP stands for; let me reprint this mission statement of the party's founder, Joe Volger:
"I'm an Alaskan, not an American...I've got no use for America or her damned institutions. The fires of hell are glaciers compared to my hate for America and her government."
So tell me--why isn't the nation in an uproar about the fact that Todd Palin hates America and that his supposedly Oval Office-caliber wife chose him as a husband in the first place? More importantly--why isn't John McCain in an uproar about this blatantly unpatriotic ice fisherman and Sarah's love for him?
Like most women, even those of us who vehemently support Barack Obama, I had a twinkling of sincere interest and affection towards Governor Palin when McCain selected her to be his running mate. But more and more, it's becoming clear that Governor Sarah Palin is no Hillary Clinton.
And in fact, the closer we look at the skimpiness of her record; Ms. Palin is, if feminist women like myself will be fair, an atrocious and laughably weak choice to be the person leading this nation should John McCain, aged 72, suddenly fall into a state of confusion during one of those 3 A.M. telephone calls.
In preparing this commentary, I spoke to many female professor and writer friends, both Democrat and Republican, and what disturbs us all is the lack of vetting, integrity--the failure to put this country first--when John McCain so desperately sought out a "vagina" and not a true leader in making his choice for the person who could very well end up controlling the fate of all our lives--and dare I remind you, our children's lives.
Wise parenting is also a part of being an effective President, and that is why the women I consulted with are joining me in voting for Barack Obama, as well as redeeming the very patriotic Michelle Obama. The exploitation of women voters in this whole process is becoming a disgrace.

Namely, if the husband of the future potential president of America does not believe in the integrity of the American soil, then does that mean his wife would eventually have to pick between him and defending that very integrity? That sounds like a fair question.
