Sarah Palin's 'extreme makeover' raises more eyebrows

How pertinent! Appearances are the top priority for GOP "handlers." They are convinced of the shallowness and stupidity of the American people. They are finding out: they're wrong.

She looks great. Look at the huge crowds that are drawn to her, she's a Republican Rock Star. I would characterize this as money well spent! She pulled higher ratings for her debate than Obama, she got the highest ratings on SNL in 14 years. Palin is a star, and stars who pull ratings have standard that sustain their Rockstar Profile. Her look translates to millions of dollars in advertising and airtime in media. She's covered more than anyone. Dollar for dollar, Palin is a bargin!

Indeed, she looks great. Yes, huge crowds are drawn to her. She commands their rapt attention. And most find her lacking integrity and substance. Like a star, glowing and beautiful and comprised of flaming gas. No. . . more like a nova - an exploding star. A cataclysmic explosion, brilliant and destructive and hollow. Tearing the GOP apart. Dollar for dollar, Palin is the best investment the GOP could have possibly made. . . in the Obama campaign!

Don't leave out that she's also a hypocrite. While the rest of middle America is pulling themselves out of credit card debt, lost of homes, lost of jobs and high gas prices she's running around the country lying about her hockey mom status flaunting her expensive makeover. She and Cindy McCain both have that "Let them eat cake"! attitude.

The GOP should ask for their money back.

No amount of make up can hide Cruella. Palin is a gift to the Obama campaign, everytime she speaks her favorability ratings drop. McCain's choice of Palin is a blatant insult to voters' intelligence and shows his clear lack of jugdement.

Stop the world: I want to get off! Is this election season going to get more bizarre? Unfortunately, this is the most sensible thing to come out of the McCain camp for some time. If you are going to put lipstick on a pig and sell it, you at least need a talented make up artist.

When you really stop to think about it the people to thank for McCain and Palins dirty laundry being aired now hourly are the very same people she has avoided like the plague. The media. Anytime they unleash a barrage of shit like this and make no attempt to be suttle about it in their reporting it how much more proof is needed they are not in McCain's corner. John McCain is toast to even Rush Limbaugh. And speaking of Rush don't think for one minute he does not want Obama to win. Do you think he has not figured out with a black man president his listenership will hit the moon. He can and will go back and renegotiate that contract because half of white america is going to be frightened for the first two years. LOL welcome to america.

Does it really matter that the Republican Party recently spent $150,000 on Sarah Palins wardrobe? That the highest paid member of the McCain campaign is Palin's makeup artist? If six packs, snowmobiles, and moose matter -- and the McCain campaign has been working very hard since August to convince us that they do -- then dropping $150,000 at Neiman-Marcus, Saks and Barneys definitely matters. "No one would blink if this was a male candidate buying Brooks Brothers suits", says a (male) Republican consultant in a recent New York Times article. Let's examine that. By my calculations -- and, admittedly, I was not a math major -- $150,000 would buy Joe Biden approximately 150 Brooks Brothers suits. (Now, if he went for the top of the line at Brooks Brothers, he would net only about 100 suits, with a little left over for ties and some REALLY nice socks.) One can imagine what would follow. The robocalls ("Are you aware that Joe Biden wears clothes from a collection called 'Golden Fleece'? Golden Fleece! Could that possibly sound more gay? John McCain doesn't think so."). The mailings ("Real Americans, living in the real America, wear pants. Joe Biden and his East Coast liberal friends wear 'trousers'".). The hyperventilation on Fox News ("We're hearing reports that Joe Biden's clothes were made in England. England! Didn't we fight a couple wars against those guys? The question for the Obama campaign is: Why does Joe Biden hate America?"). Really, though, for those in the political arena with a sense of irony, the part to savor is this: the McCain campaign, in its own defense, has pointed out that Sarah Palin didn't do her own shopping at Neimans, Saks, and Barneys -- she had someone else do her shopping for her... AND THAT SAYS IT ALL. LOL!

Don't leave out that the McCain/Palin ticket is reflecting and showing true indications of sloppy management, poorly organizational skills and snap judgements that could be costly or tragic on a global scale. All of the excuses in the world will not help this disaster team regardless of whether they win or otherwise. Let's hope, as it has been said on this site many times that most American Voters aren't going to be hoodwinked and have their intelligence insulted by these two.

This may come as a surprise, "observer," but the media aren't supposed to be in McCain's corner. Yes, I know it goes counter to the definitions of patriotism you've seen on Faux News, but that's not how journalism is supposed to work. What has been fun to watch has been the McCain/Fox partnership going after the rest of the media for obvious decisions -- for instance, giving scant coverage to idiotic tin-hat conspiracy theories that don't hold water (Ayers, madrassahs, citizenship questions) while reporting on campaign glitches that do (Troopergate, for example). Oh, and, by the way, John McCain has some damn expensive shoes. It's been reported. Each one in a pair costs about the same as a John Edwards haircut. Remember John's haircuts? They were reported, too. Sarah's not being treated any differently than anyone else -- she's just furnishing more examples.
