Farrakhan breaks his silence on Obama in interview with Al Jazeera
Staff Reporter | Posted November 15, 2008 8:40 PMAfter months of silence, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan has finally spoken out about Barack Obama's election as president.
In a televised interview with Al Jazeera, Farrakhan said he purposefully stayed away from the campaign and avoided endorsing Obama for fear that any support he expressed might be used against the Illinois senator.
Although Obama renounced Farrakhan's support of him during the primary campaign, Farrakhan said this week that he wasn't bothered by it. "I did not mind," he said, "because I understand the bigger picture."
"I decided that if I wanted to help Barack Obama I needed to be quiet and not be drawn into the controversy," Farrakhan told Al Jazeera, and he blamed Fox News and others for trying to draw him into a controversy with Obama.
Despite his silence during the campaign, Farrakhan lavished praise on the newly elected president. "I believe he can help change America's domestic policy and help America change her foreign policy," Farrakhan said.
Citing America's $10 trillion debt, Farrakhan warned Americans not to put too much pressure on Obama to solve all the nation's problems immediately.
It was at least the second time in a week that the Nation of Islam minister spoke publicly about the election. Last Sunday, he spoke at at Mosque Maryam in Chicago and delivered a speech called "America's New Beginning: President-elect Barack Obama." The speech is available on the web site for The Final Call, the Nation of Islam's newspaper.

I didn't want to say anything about Farrkhan's ties to North Sudan's President Bashir or the FINAL CALL constantly claiming that there is no slavery in Sudan; that there is no genocide in Darfur. But it's amazing how Farrakhan can side with Arabs like Khadafi and Bashir and LOOK THE OTHER WAY as they "cleanse" North Africa of "pure blacks."
The whole Arab Muslim world has used Farrakhan to do a monumental Snow Job on "Black America" and it's worked so well because most AAs don't really care what happens to Black people unless they're light-skinned anyway. AA's don't acknowledge CHARCOAL ("biblical days blacks"); they prefer to identify ONLY with dark brown and yellow blacks because they forget that when they originally came to AMerica from places like GOREE ISLAND---the majority of them were CHARCOAL like Sojourner Truth. They don't realize that those South Sudanese CUSHITES are the original black people that the Black Arabs are wiping out.
I have SOME LOVE for Farrakhan on other issues and I consider him to be one of my "fathers" as an activist-writer; but at the same time, I feel EXTREMELY betrayed that he has befriended BASHIR and looks the other way as Khartoum exterminates millions of BLACK People in Sudan....because they are supposedly racially "PURE".
The people of DARFUR are "MUSLIMS"...but they are not MIXED ARAB like the ones in Khartoum...so they have to be exterminated because they're so black.
I was born in Omdurman, Sudan...I am Half-Arab; I was born Muslim to Harith Bin Farouk...my Arab father was murdered for speaking against Slavery and the Murhaleen...I personally know Pres. Bashir and that he DOES NOT consider himself "black" and that he hates Black Sudanese....I KNOW what I am talking about.
But you have so many Black American "Pan-Africanists" who support slavery and genocide in Sudan and pretend that it's the fault of EXXON-MOBILE or the U.S. when it's really just ARAB Muslim Imperialism and Racism doing what it's always done in North Africa...eliminate the Blacks.
AA's don't even realize that SWAHILI is an Arab Slave Language forced on East Africans 1,000 years ago---they think it's an African language; they think Islam is an African religion. These people are the worse enemies that Africa has ever had; even worse than the White Europeans.
Francis Bok and I are writing a book about it.

I don't mean to be offensive on purpose.
I deeply love Black Americans (African-Americans) and after being rescued and raised by them...I feel that I am one, too. I just automatically expect them to "understand me" because they LOOK African; so I am dumbfounded when say...they have a very negative reaction to Topless black women. That should not bother an African person. Of course, in America, they have a whole other definition for what is "Black"--so they aren't able to SEE what's taking place in Sudan, because to the American eye, all these people are black (even though the Arabs would literally kill you for calling them Black).
SAS...
As for "AL JAZEERA"--this is the same Arab Muslim television network that refers to dark colored BLACK MEN as "abeed" (ni66er) on a regular basis.
Like it's normal as drinking water, Al Jazeera will report: "Two abeed were arrested in Khartoum for robbery this morning."
When John Garang appeared for an interview in 2005, they posted the title "Abeed" over his image under his name and title as VP of Sudan.
Muslims in the U.S. don't realize what Evil they're supporting.
I am ashamed to have been born Muslim. I am ashamed to be Half Arab.
Now that I'm grown, I understand why my birth father became a Heroin addict when the Africans refused to accept him as a "black" man. He told me how ashamed he was to be Arab, to be Egyptian, to be Sunni Muslim.
All of the man-made religions...Christianity; Judaism; Islam...they have ALL failed God. They have all become Anti-Human. It's now about power and controlling people for social position and material wealth. Nobody loves GOD or protects the children anymore. GOD is love and healing---there is no "Sin" or oppression of expression with GOD.

#1--I have lived in the United States...raised by Black Americans...for almost 30 years. I came to this country as a Child and left at age 17 to be a model in Tel Aviv. I lived in my native North Africa almost 10 years and returned here, the U.S., around 2000. I received my citizenship in 1993.
You don't have to tell me who Farrakhan is or what he means to Black America. As I expressed...he has some of the same meaning for me as well. Apparently you didn't read my complete post.
#2---the "West Africans" who SOLD your people into slavery...were sold right behind you. That small circle of selfish, evil KINGS were INVADED, COLONIZED (basically enslaved in their own countries) and they were SOLD on the Boat right behind you.
That's why you have Clarence Thomas and Michael Jackson NOW.
Because the people who SOLD YOU came here WITH YOU; Right Behind You.
#3---JP, I DO NOT...and will NEVER...accept your WHITE SLAVE MASTER'S bullshit One drop rule.
In fact, now that slavery is OVER, the White Americans don't even accept it. They're the ones COMPLAINING that Obama and Halle Berry are "Half-White" and need to acknowledge it.
In California, White Mothers of Biracial kids do not allow their kids to call themselves "black", they will tell you straight up that they are "Biracial".
#4--NOWHERE OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES do Black People accept or practice the "1 drop rule." So it's you, JP, who is misguided and confused about what Africans say out of "politeness" and what they actually say in their homes out of your ear shot.
OBAMA has even written in his autobiography that his family in Kenya welcomed him with PURE LOVE...but they do not consider him BLACK. Halle Berry has stated that when she visited TANZANIA, the butlers, cab drivers and guards treated her wonderfully...but kept calling her "White Lady."
When Maya Angelou lived in EGYPT, she was not considered "black" in the way that her SUDANESE Maid was considered "black". Neither by the Arabs or by the Black Sudanese. She wrote about that. She also wrote about the fact that she didn't really feel she was in the "real" Africa until she left EGYPT and went to BLACK AFRICA.
So don't come tellng me what the definition of BLACK is on the African continent. Because our endemic rule is quite simple---"Do the ancestors SHOW in the child?"
DO THE ANCESTORS SHOW IN HIM or HER?
And if your tribe does not see the African ancestors in your white, light, Non-African hair, "Whatever"---then you are called "HALF-CASTE."
It doesn't mean that African people don't LOVE their mixed children or that they don't love mixed people...but what it means is the SAME THING WHITE PEOPLE mean when they say...you have to "WHITE" to be White. It's called SELF-RESPECT and in any normal society where people have ROYAL LINEAGE; Family MASKS; Heritage Chains--China, Japan, Europe, Africa---you will found these lines being drawn.
In Africa, your mother could be Alek Wek and your daddy could be Michael Jordan....but if you look like Mariah Carey, then you AIN'T black.
As I wrote before, my Egyptian Father became a Heroin Addict behind the fact that the people he was fighting so hard for (Dinka, Nuer, Mende, Chollo-Shilluk) refused to acknowledge him as "black."
And let me further add that one of the most INGENIUS and RACIST lies that was ever invented was the American White Slavery "One Drop" Lie--because what it does is ENCOURAGES Black AMericans to breed themselves into IMPOTENT PALE-NESS while still allowing them to call themselves "black."
It allows you to scream about "PRIDE" in your ancestors--but not look a damn thing like them.
In fact, the first thing many AMERICAN Black children do when they get to Africa is complain, "Why do they look like?"
In the Schools in California, MIXED Boy children keep their heads shaved now that they HATE the "Proof", the "African hair" of their ancestors showing on their scalps....
You claim that SLAVERY took away your real names, your language and your identity---yet you have the GALL to come defending the WHITE MAN'S 1 drop bullshit and telling me that I should be bow down to it.
But without "looks-in-common", Blacks cannot achieve unity.
Sorry to tell you, but 39 SHADES does not promote Unity. People don't trust people who dont' look like them. EVENTUALLY, people who don't look alike...don't have the exact same experiences.
I LIVE IN AMERICA and have lived here the MAJORITY of my life...and I dont' give a damn what you say...INDIA ARIE is not treated the same way IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY that ALICIA KEYS is. And it's because INDIA is "black."
The LIES that Americanized BLACKS like yourself perpetuate...that there is some great HIGH YELLOW-SKINNED tribe of "UN-mixed" People in Africa or that we are so inferior that just ANYBODY can be us...that's for you to nod to.
After all....it's all you know.
But I refuse.
Now I thought I had been quite gracious and fair to apologize for what I felt was taken the wrong way...because I was speaking as a "Black American" the same way that my Black American parents speak. And they come from Georgia/North Carolina/Tennessee.
But one thing I don't allow is people to "Scapegoat" me.
RIGHT NOW...millions...and I mean MILLIONS of African teenagers are bleaching their skin and wearing BLOND hair weaves because of the images they receive from B.E.T., Black American movies and magazines.
You didn't bring that shit here from Africa. YOU GOT IT FROM YOUR SLAVE MASTER on HIS Plantation! And now you're passing it on to us!
The WHITES taught you to HATE YOURSELF...and now you're helping to teach Africans how to HATE themselves the same way.
So don't try to paint me as your enemy.
Don't try to blame SLAVERY ON ME as you conveniently pop in your Blue contacts and salivate all over your some CAUCASION that you just can't live without.
ONE THING I will agree on...is that you came out of MY BLACK ASS...
I didn't come out of yours.
Now be as offended as you want to be.
And while I have stated that I feel love for Farrakhan; feel that I am one of his daughters...he's still dead WRONG about Sudan. And the majority of Black Americans are still not concerned with those CHARCOAL Sudanese PEOPLE the way they were about the Peanut-Butter-Brown People in SOUTH AFRICA. And for the record, South Africans don't give a shit about the people in Sudan either!
2008-11-16 21:20:22
Al Jazeera is a racist Arab television network no different than FOX NEWS. They're nothing but trash.
And for the record, everything that I stated about Al Jazeera is a FACT that can be checked quite easily.

Rowan, what is so scary about Farrakhan? I really would like to know, cause it sounds like we are all slaves hoping not to piss massa off.
2008-11-17 02:41:43
I'm not ashamed of being born Muslim and having Arab Blood because of race.
I'm ASHAMED because of what these people DO to Africans and how they've been getting away with it for over a thousand years.
I'm ASHAMED that I was taught as a kid in Omdurman BY ARABS that ALLAH loves Black people "less" because they're the children of HAM...
And that Black people have "tails"...that Black Women "naturally" desire to be raped.
I'm ashamed that my Grandmother Najet Kolbookek put me up for adoption because I'm "too darkskinned" to fit in the Kolbookek family without NEIGHBORS realizing that she herself has African blood.
I don't know how in the hell you think that White Supremacy is only a condition OVER HERE where you live...that only EUROPEANS practice it.
White Supremacy is the religion of the world. ARABS often refer to Black people as "rats."
They don't see "Black Americans" as BLACK People---they see you as AMERICANS.
Because they need to USE you for Political Leverage and always have.
Farrakhan has been financed and funded by his friends---Bashir and Khadafi---to recruit Black America's support for the Arab Muslims. But those people have done more harm to Africa than the Europeans ever have! In EAST AFRICA, we were enslaved 1,000 years.
And it's because of Islam and Christianity that you no longer understand why African people believed in "truth" (being naked).
Those two religions destroyed the African brain and reduced us to thinking like slaves.

But is it really all to be blamed on whites? or arabs? or religion? I doubt there is a sigle source for all of it. But the hate among all black people is big, whether these black people are like your friend brown mrs winnie mandela or barack obama or oumou from mali.
Anyway, for me I think it is ultimately, in the manner in which you present these sores that I sometimes miss your point. In light of the fact that self hatred resides not only in one shade of black or brown I am not sure if it useful to speak in those accusatory tones: rather like weighing whose hatred is bigger than whose, weighing that would not be accurate anyway in fact far off the mark. These black camps of hate only are useless. I am still not even sure what makes me African or black or Zulu, except maybe that it is what I was born into and what I knew when young. But what is it really in the bigger picture of humanity. Is it a way to love ourselves and fellow others or to defferentiate and conviniently exclude or silence or shame them? Because if it is only the latter then black and african and whatever else much as it exists in our midst, it is humanly pointless.2008-11-18 18:15:37
But to remind you of the evil manifests you are eager to point out among those african american behaviors, which incidentally only kill you further i can figure. For instance the bleaching of their skins. Remember that it's not confined to african americans, africans do it too. The congolese men love to morvete themselves yellow from the neck up - still today. south africans used to do it in the 80s. it's such a shame to see. my point is, the self-hatred is not a geographically confined disease, but universal. and i think you must have to be kinder to those around you so as not to 'other' the disease. instead own it too. So, i hope you dont come across as accusatory in your tone. i think now i see what you may have meant that you wished you had the tone of Terry McMillan. She did not 'other' the problems of young black men as she wrote about them, no? She owned them instead. I also dont understand why you use that phrase when referring to black americans: 'your ass came from me, i did not come from you' Dont do that. Both morally and technically it is untrue. It only serves to bluff oneself into a place of a false superiority and position. My father tries it on me sometimes, but i remind him in my actions how wrong he is. i mean he is tribalist racist homophobe and i am sooo ashamed. In your case, i assume you mean that black americans comes from africa hence you from africa represent their origins? No one does. The little girl did not. Also, like a family tree, the branches grow their seperate ways (blood lines and culturally). And seeing that you are still alive, it is impossible that people your own age came from you either way. i can imagine how you'd be pissed off to write that. but besides it being a bluff, it is unproductive, as it serves to humiliate and and shame and exclude. which is part of the hate movement which is our inheritance. And exclude from what really? both me and you that that inheritance is primarily raw pain.
