Thank you Mr. Farrakhan for refraining from making ANY comments during the election. Only a fool would have not know that any comments made by you or anyone else connected with civil rights in the black community would have been pounced upon by the white press and McCain's camp. Even Rev Wrong shut his mouth up knowing he was making nothing but a buffoon of himself. If only that ignoramus Jesse Sr. had followed your example. But regardless of Jesse Sr.'s tremendous short comings and inability to show any accomplishments of the past 40 plus years of he or his Operation Push he still has his 'midwest' supporter.

Once again Al Jazeera showed what needed to be shown at the right time, the right place, in the correct context. Thank you, Al Jazeera for showing this interview and too bad most people here in the US did not have the chance to watch it.

Thank you Minister Farrakhan, while I don't always agree with you, your love and concern with black people is never in doubt and you know the media here better than anyone else, a black person tells the truth, its inflammatory, anyone else, we can debate it.

I didn't want to say anything about Farrkhan's ties to North Sudan's President Bashir or the FINAL CALL constantly claiming that there is no slavery in Sudan; that there is no genocide in Darfur. But it's amazing how Farrakhan can side with Arabs like Khadafi and Bashir and LOOK THE OTHER WAY as they "cleanse" North Africa of "pure blacks."

The whole Arab Muslim world has used Farrakhan to do a monumental Snow Job on "Black America" and it's worked so well because most AAs don't really care what happens to Black people unless they're light-skinned anyway. AA's don't acknowledge CHARCOAL ("biblical days blacks"); they prefer to identify ONLY with dark brown and yellow blacks because they forget that when they originally came to AMerica from places like GOREE ISLAND---the majority of them were CHARCOAL like Sojourner Truth. They don't realize that those South Sudanese CUSHITES are the original black people that the Black Arabs are wiping out.

I have SOME LOVE for Farrakhan on other issues and I consider him to be one of my "fathers" as an activist-writer; but at the same time, I feel EXTREMELY betrayed that he has befriended BASHIR and looks the other way as Khartoum exterminates millions of BLACK People in Sudan....because they are supposedly racially "PURE".

The people of DARFUR are "MUSLIMS"...but they are not MIXED ARAB like the ones in Khartoum...so they have to be exterminated because they're so black.

I was born in Omdurman, Sudan...I am Half-Arab; I was born Muslim to Harith Bin Farouk...my Arab father was murdered for speaking against Slavery and the Murhaleen...I personally know Pres. Bashir and that he DOES NOT consider himself "black" and that he hates Black Sudanese....I KNOW what I am talking about.

But you have so many Black American "Pan-Africanists" who support slavery and genocide in Sudan and pretend that it's the fault of EXXON-MOBILE or the U.S. when it's really just ARAB Muslim Imperialism and Racism doing what it's always done in North Africa...eliminate the Blacks.

AA's don't even realize that SWAHILI is an Arab Slave Language forced on East Africans 1,000 years ago---they think it's an African language; they think Islam is an African religion. These people are the worse enemies that Africa has ever had; even worse than the White Europeans.

Although I don't agree with all of what Farrakhan stands for, I respect and commend him for knowing when to zip the lips. It's unfortunate that the same news source that tried to pit Obama and Farrakhan against each other didn't follow-up with him after the election. It took an outside source to cover the last word. ...and Kola, some of us do know what's going on in Sudan..and we are aware of African History. We could help more if there was a mutual respect and love with those from the motherland. One of the ramifications of the trans-atlantic slave trade is that African Americans have no direct communication with the Continent. There are the elements of lost history and mis-information. I really do not understand the depth of the attacks on the integrity of Mr Farrakhan. The fact is, any doubts I may have had about him as a person disappeared when I watched him on Al Jazeera. Riz Khan is very very professional and courteous and Farrakhan gave a very good interview. He comes across as a very refined and polished gentleman, very articulate.I do not believe he is a bigot at all. Critics accuse him of being an anti Semite. I do not think that is such a bad thing, even when one considers that the anti Semite label is (ab)used seemingly indiscriminately by supporters of Israel to silence criticism of that country's barbaric treatment of Palestinians. Nothing Farrakhan has done is anywhere as brutal as what George Bush has done in Iraq, or Olmert/Sharon in Palestine. Nothing he says is even remotely as bigoted as the hate sermons of televangelist Pat Robertson, John Hagee who routinely use the pulpit to incite violence, murder and oppression against Muslims and Arabs. He is an African American, a member of a community which has been treated horribly over the years. Instead of hypocritically criticizing him and like the likes of Rev Jeremiah Wright, Americans ought to feel grateful that despite the bestial treatment meted out to African Americans over the years, relatively few African Americans harbour such deep seated anger against a nation that until relatively recently has failed to give them their fair dues.

I deeply love Black Americans (African-Americans) and after being rescued and raised by them...I feel that I am one, too. I just automatically expect them to "understand me" because they LOOK African; so I am dumbfounded when say...they have a very negative reaction to Topless black women. When John Garang appeared for an interview in 2005, they posted the title "Abeed" over his image under his name and title as VP of Sudan.

Kola, I think your comments on African American beliefs around their race is not reality and is way off. We know and understand here in America it has nothing to do with being a light skinned or dark skinned black because all of us with 1% black blood or more have experienced some racism in our lifetime by fellow whites and other brown, red, yellow men and women. People that come to this country from other countries come here with an attitude that you treat the African Americans as second class even though they experience racism themselves as non white. More African Americans would get involved in Darfur and the Sudan if they knew about it or had the resources to contribute. Do not assume people know whats going on in other countries. Its not talked about in the main stream media here in America. Minister Louis Farrakhan is the voice some Blacks here in America may have heard for the 1st time being explosed to this kind of dialogue. You see, he opens up the minds of young men and women in the Black community even if its just to think about things you may not be aware of here in American and abroad. Mr. Farrakhan has lead the cause on saving lives in our community and has transformed lives which has made them respectable honorable people that's a fact. Kola Boof, I do not know on what basis you refer to Al Jazeera as the channel that refers to blacks as Abeed. The fact is, Al Jazeera has any number of blacks/Africans of all heritages working with them, and even had one of its Sudanes cameraman tortured bestially at Guantanamo for six whole years without trial courtesy of the ever so brave US forces in Cuba. Al Jazeera is the same television channel that shows the depth of brutality of the Israeli occupation and the US led invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq - and had its offices bombed and journalists murdered by the US military as a result. Al Jazeera is the same television channel unafraid what the supposedly free American press refuses to show - and gets vilified for speaking the truth to power. #1--I have lived in the United States...raised by Black Americans...for almost 30 years. I came to this country as a Child and left at age 17 to be a model in Tel Aviv. I lived in my native North Africa almost 10 years and returned here, the U.S., around 2000. I received my citizenship in 1993.

When Maya Angelou lived in EGYPT, she was not considered "black" in the way that her SUDANESE Maid was considered "black". Neither by the Arabs or by the Black Sudanese. She wrote about that. She also wrote about the fact that she didn't really feel she was in the "real" Africa until she left EGYPT and went to BLACK AFRICA.
