Clarence Thomas pushes Obama citizenship case onto Supreme Court docket

As a public figure, my heart cries for Obama.

These exact same tactics (hijacking or compromising my identity--trying to make me born in Peacock, Georgia instead of my native Sudan) have been used against me by groups who disagreed with my opinions and wanted to silence me.

These people will manufacture false documents; pay people to lie; do whatever it takes in their attemtps at discrediting someone...simply because you expressed a view they feel threatened by.

In my case, because I was in the media attacking the Sudanese government and extremist Islamic practices--I was attacked by U.S. oil companies (and their "paid" reporters) and the AMERICAN Arab-owned businesses who own several prominent Black American politicians and media people.

More than one White Professor sneered that I was "putting a Black face on Egypt" (I am half-Egyptian).

When I publicly stated that I'd had an abortion and didn't see biracial people as "pure black"---the Abortion rights people and the Upper Class "BOUGIE" Black Americans joined in the "we hate that African b***Ch campaigns".

I was accused of "hating" biracial people--which is total and ridiculous b.s.--but Black Americans are so obsessed with becoming mulattos, that they ASSUME not seeing Vin Diesel as 'black' prevents me from loving that person. (If I can be a fanatic over Julia Roberts, the GoGo's and Bette Davis, who are white---then why in the hell couldn't I LOVE biracial people, especially since I see them all as my "Family/blood relatives"?). Why do I and other AFRICANS have to LIE and tell them they're black when they're so obviously NOT?

But once you scare people by being different--they will do anything to destroy you.

I made the mistake of very loudly REBELLING against the American status quo that says that black women can't celebrate their blackness without watering it down or doing "white girl drag".

I made the mistake of PUBLICLY encouraging other Blacks to be proud and to revel in their blackness.

Despite loving all human beings (just as I'm certain Barack Obama does)--peoople saw this as a rejection of the DOMINANT white culture (even Black Americans were offended that I WANTED, liked and PREFERRED being my own race).

They tried to ram all that American "there's only the human race" b.s. down my throat. As if being HUMAN ever stopped 6 million Jews from being baked in ovens or got Danny Glover or a cab or protected black people from Racial Profiling.

Americans get pissed off when I tell the truth---that COLOR Is NOT a "social construct", regardless of what the word "race" is.

This a country that HATES people who tell the truth.

And now they're using these same tactics to MURDER the message and voice of Barack Obama.

This is what they do---they smear you and degrade you so that only their voice; their view can be heard. And they get BLACK N******Stock to do their dirty work.

If White People don't report your story, after all...it's not true. Because only White People can decide what is history or what really happened. Even if they're LYING 80% of the time because they can't stand that a Black Egyptian woman has made it to the western world and is putting a new face on Egypt as they claimed.

This isn't all that new, this was scheduled almost a month ago. Justice Thomas accepted it for conference... The other Justices have to decide whether to hear arguments.. it doesn't mean it will be put on the docket. The bigger picture here is "standing"... if a voter can't determine the viability of a candidate based on public records etc... how does a voter petition for redress if he doesn't have standing to vet a candidate? Barack Obama hasn't presented for public review his Birth Certificate, and a Certificate of Live Birth that was posted on his site isn't a legal document. That is, you can't use it in place of a BC. The Donofrio case was brought because the Sec State of NJ did not review Barack's credentials as required by NJ state law 60 days prior to the election. So again, how do voters gain standing if state officials do not do their job?

The Donofrio case is NOT related to whether or not Obama was born in Hawaii. Rather he asserts the Constitutional meaning of "natural born citizen" is that a person must be born on U.S. soil AND that both of their parents were U.S. citizens at the time of their birth. Obama's Dad was NOT a U.S. citizen, therefore Obama was not, and is not, a "natural born citizen" and cannot become President ... if that is the Supreme Court agrees. Robare

This is purely a case for those against Obama. If there were any truth to this, I doubt he would have made it to the US Senate. Sorry people, Obama is the president now. I know it pisses you off but you lost and lost big time. HA HA! Get over it.

Ultimately the question will need to be answered. The big problem seems to be the varying definition of "natural born". Given the political implications if it turns out Obama was born in Kenya, the SCOTUS will more than likely rule that a uniform definition must be used, and either make their own definition or request Congress to provide one. In either case the lowest common definition (if any factor resulting in citizenship is present at birth then the person is a natural born citizen) will be used and Obama will be declared a natural born citizen. The down side will be that Obama will have been caught in a lie--albeit a trivial one. It's not like the Right need any more reasons to not like him. But do we really want to ignore the Constitution just so Obama can avoid the same name-calling Clinton endured for 8 years? Imagine what a pandora's box will be opened by blatantly ignoring the Constitution. Obama's got face enough to weather this.

You don't have to be a "natural born"(meaning under no jurisdiction other than that of the US at birth) to be a US Senator. The Donofrio v Wells case and the Cort v W case address the issue of natural born. The Berg v Obama case is questioning his place of birth. I believed the system failed the american people, for whatever reason they did not check out if Obama was a natural born citizen before putting his name on the ballot. I believe because of this we need to find out the truth, because we need to hold up our constitution. If the constitution is not upheld then either can Our rights as american citizen be upheld.

Good grief Barack H. Obama will be inaugurated as the 44th President of United States of America on January 20, 2009. The only reason why all of you are questioning Obama's citizenship is because he is black. None of you are questioning McCain's citizenship even when he was born in the Panama Canal Zone. Actually, if this lays the issue to rest, it may be a good thing. However, I suspect that some people would never be satisfied that Obama is a U.S. citizen, regardless of how good the proof is.

I read on another web site that Obama's birth announcement was printed in a Hawaiian newspaper shortly after his birth. It seems to me that that, plus the other Hawaiian documentation, should be more than sufficient proof that Obama does qualify as a natural-born citizen and can legally be president. On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if someone forged documents to prove that he was born in Kenya. There are some people who still believe that the earth is flat and that moon landings, etc., were faked. Some people just are not rational, and some are filled with such hatred that they will stop at nothing to get their way.

If I understand it correctly, the office of President is the ONLY office which has to be filled by a natural-born citizen. Naturalized citizens can be governors, members of Congress, etc.

Like many white men, I was extremely happy that Obama was elected. Of course his election will not cause all problems resulting from racism to go away, but it is an important milestone. It will be some time before we will be able to determine just how important it is.

Actually, Barack Obama has not technically been voted in until the electors vote on December 15. Also, there was a comment made about McCain. The lawsuit challenged McCain as well as Roger Calero (a Nicaraguan with a green card who was on some ballots) saying that these men should not have been on the ballot without being validated. This started prior to the general election and is not race-related, it is a constitutional matter. These cases should be heard to put the rumors to rest so that when Obama takes office, everyone is supporting him and there are no questions.

I can not believe Clarence Thomas has the audacity to question President-Elect Obama's birth place. To: Cadence, Title 8, does not supercede ths Constitution. It was written to clarify validity to the claim of U.S. Citienship under various circumstances.

Obama IS not the president, and if you have followed anything with these cases then you would know that his presidency is in grave danger. It is extremely likely with the proof that Berg brings to the table that Obama will lose his presidency.

Well question is: if an elected official has dual citizenship. Is that individual able to meet the guide lines set out in the U.S. Constitution. NO, you must be a citizen of the U.S. But here is a twist. If a U.S. citizen works for or is employed by a foreign government you lost your U.S. citizenship. Klaus, the article explains what that section of the Constitution means. Obama, who was born in the U.S. to a woman who was a US citizen, is a natural born US citizen. His Paternal Grandmother has been telling her friends in Kenya that Obama was born there. Why does Obama refuse to show a valid Birth Certificate and also his records of the three colleges he attended. What has he got to hide? A valid Birth Certificate should come from the Vital Records department in Hawaii. The one he posted on the web site is nat a valid certificate. He lists his father as being born in Kenya and that he was African. In 1961 birth records would have shown him as being either Colored or Negro.This should have come forward long before he even started in the primaries.

The president will take an oath to uphold the constitution of the United States. The responders in this comment section need to put emotion aside and take seriously what supposedly they learned in their 8th grade US History class. Do some research about what a natural born citizen is. Obama clearly is not, and the American people have been hoodwinked because the press have swept this under the carpet. If the courts do their job, they will not allow an unqualified candidate to be President. If they don't, they will not have upheld the constitution. It's a matter of ethics. Telling someone to hang themselves, etc. is evidence that a person has no idea the seriousness of this matter and the fact that if we don't uphold our constitution in this matter, then we won't uphold it in any of the other basic framework of laws that are laid down in our most central governing document of who we are and what we represent.

Either the president-elect was born in the USA or he wasn't. If he wasn't (given the other applicable facts), he is constituionally ineligible to be president. This issue should have been resolved long ago and,assuming that the president-elect was born in the USA, could have easily been resolved by him. Hawaii became the 50th Stae in 1959. The Applicants submit mo documentation proving that Obama was born other than in Hawaii. Americans become natural Citizens by virtue of being born on American soil. Where their Parents were born is of no consequence. By that standard Obama is a Citizen. A decision by SCOTUS will have to be reconciled with this fact of life. A Birth Certificate is nothing more than a formal Registration of a Birth. There are many legitimate reasons for a Parent not having registered a Birth, particularly in remote regions of America. These GOP Don Quixotes will grasp at anything.
