Hillary Clinton will be a very successful Secretary of State
Joni L. Reynolds | Posted December 1, 2008 12:40 PMIt is official. Hillary Clinton is Barack Obama's pick for Secretary of State.
During the campaign he equated her foreign policy experience to having "tea parties" with foreign officials. That was then, and now we have turned the page.
Hillary Clinton made a choice. She could have continued to be one of one hundred senators or she could be the Secretary of State. She wisely chose the latter.
The questions at the press conference on Monday centered mostly on Hillary Clinton. She lost the nomination to Obama and Obama won the presidency. She has decided to be part of the team and she knows how to do that.
As Obama said, he has assembled a team with "strong personalities and strong opinions," but ultimately he is the visionary and it is the job of everyone, including Clinton, to carry out his vision.
