Republicans debate "Barack The Magic Negro"

Controversy has broken out in the Republican Party after former Tennessee GOP leader Chip Saltsman, distributed a CD to Republican National Committee members featuring a song called "Barack the Magic Negro."

Saltsman, who ran Mike Huckabee's presidential campaign, is campaigning for Republican National Committee chairman. One of his leading opponents, Robert M. "Mike" Duncan, said he was "shocked and appalled" by Saltsman's actions. But another candidate, former Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell, who wants to be the first African American RNC chairman, is actually defending Saltsman.

The controversy centers around a parody called "Barack the Magic Negro" set to the music of "Puff The Magic Dragon" and sung by what news sources have called "an Al Sharpton imitator."

Saltsman has defended the CD despite the controversy and Blackwell has blamed the controversy on "hypersensitivity in the press regarding matters of race."

Notice that Republicans are the only ones that has to "debate" calling the next president a magic negro. They might as well call him Nigger. I guess it dosen't matter when they also have to call him president too. LOL

Had some in the DNC distributed a CD with "Ken (Blackwell) the Magic Negro", Ken would be singing a different tune. The entire RNC would be incensed. I really hope that Blackwell's black constituents remember this affront to them when he is up for reelection as the time he sold them out to curry favor with his 'Leaders'.

This song is a political parody, but it also makes a statement about the person who thinks this is funny. He won't be at the Inagural or at the table of power. Thank God! Isn't it time for these closet racists to give up a seat?

The GOP is a bad joke, they all know its racist as is the party and its voters, but, yet many have taken off the sheets to defend it, oh well, since, its now more or less a regional party of bigots, nothing new, and, nothing will change, they will only get bolder with the racist tripe. Blackwell? He hates being "black" so much, he would defend the klan to curry favor with the GOP, and, if he thinks the party "faithful" will ever elect a black person to lead them, he really needs a ticket back to reality or some coins to buy that bridge in Brooklyn.

Oh. The RNC could actually make Blackwell their chairperson as a token of their new, kinder, gentler and race embracing party (The Dems did it, we can show the world that we can too!). Sort of like what they did when they ushered Sarah Palin in to try to pull in the conservative female vote, in an effort to recoup their losses. But Blackwell has shown where his allegiances lie.

The one thing we must all remember is that ignorance comes in all shapes, sizes, color, and ages. No matter how big or seemingly contagious the dream, the infamous words of the late Rev. King, their will always be those that let the reality of true ignorance reflect in them. It's not a black, white, or american thing, it's about the lack of character, envy, and power that causes such words to be uttered. My prayer for him and the rest of us is one simple prayer, God please guide our hearts, tongue, body, mind and soul. Show us the way to living and exhibiting your will and have mercy on us who choose differently, amen.

You know, I've been reading the reactions of blacks in regards to the "Magical Negro" fiasco and I just have to say that we really are trained to look in a certain direction and not look at the whole picture. We get too emotional too fast--instead of stepping back and taking it all in before reacting. That whole Magical Negro fiasco was instigated by a bi-racial writer by the name of David Ehrenstein. He wrote a commentary in the LA Times back in 07 titled Obama The Magical Negro. In it, he castigated Obama for what he viewed as pandering to whites. Since then, Ehrenstein has been on an anti-Obama crusade--his articles cropping up again in the LA Times and other major publications. Why? Because white Pseudo-liberals love him that's why. He can say things that they can't because of his half-blackness.

God knows sometimes people have to get a little ugly in order to add some urgency and impact to the message. We live in a world run by adults not kids. We can be cruel sometimes for a good reason. The Republicans were doing this to find people in agreement. They were looking for those who in the privacy and security of their corporations and homes laugh in agreement. Their outreach program wasn't a smashing success. This is a sign of hope for America. Subtle racism isn't funny and it doesn't win elections. Let the GOP get ugly and the rest of us will win every time. Don't forget the rest of us have issues too and free speech.

Either we believe in free speech or either we don't;Its not appropriate to start disbelieving in free speech every time someone starts using his speech in an irresponsible manner...when they do you get to know who the ones are who are not Justful human beings and then you can take the appropriate actions never to support the individuals.There is responsible and irresponsible use of free speech.When one opts to use irresponsible speech there are consequences availble to forward other than to shut off rights to free speech which will be effective in teaching the abusive mindset that irresponsible speech will get them nowhere fast.
