Oil futures hit a new record high of $122 a barrel today as analysts predicted that prices could rise as high as $200 within the next two years.

By the time he left office in January 2001, the price had risen to $1.45 a gallon, a 37 percent increase over the course of eight years. That may seem like a steep hike, until you consider what happened during the Bush Administration.

As the country's sagging economy dominates the headlines, college students are being hit in their wallets along with other members of society. Students say they are struggling with higher tuition, gas and food prices and worry that they will be unable to repay student loans after graduation.
