Police ID Electric Scooter Rider Struck, Killed On Route 1 A 22-year-old man on an electric scooter was struck and killed along Route 1 in Edison, authorities said. Raul Montoya-Chavez, of Edison, was hit in the southbound center lane of Route 1 at about 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15 as he tried to cross at Plainfield Avenue, Edison police said. Montoya-Chavez died of his injuries at an area hospital, police said. The 61-year-old Rahway man driving the SUV had a green light and is not expected to be charged, police said.

Alert Issued For Missing 14-Year-Old From Bay Shore Police are asking for help in locating a missing teenager from Long Island. Angie Reyes, age 14, of Bay Shore, was last seen on Stein Drive at around 6:20 a.m. Wednesday, May 15. Suffolk County Police said the teen is believed to be suicidal and may be in need of medical attention. Reyes is Hispanic, 4-feet-11 and 115 pounds, with red hair and brown eyes.
